It Is Important to Ask Yourself: "Why am I in Network Marketing"

As it was pointed out to me recently, I have been going about this Network Marketing career in every direction but the right one.

Network Marketing is about building relationships, teaching and mentoring.  Direct Sales Marketing is about Sales.

First and foremost, you have to build relationships.  The bottom line is that you have to study people.  Find out how you can help them reach their dreams...not yours.

Study what they want:  help them.  Give them advice.  Do not treat them like a number.

Do not listen to those heavy hitters who feed you a line and then you look like a deer in a headlight because you believe everything they tell you.  You are an intelligent human being.  Get out of the headlights and educate yourself on Network Marketing and Direct Sales Marketing.  There IS a difference.

Have they been in Network Marketing all of their career or have they been in Direct Sales Marketing.  There IS a big difference.  Did they become a big success in their new company because people followed them there?

Do not believe the lines:

"No" is a good thing.

"Talk to everybody about your business opportunity."

"If it is to be, It is Up to Me"

As one of the great mentors says:  "Every single one of them (marketing company) that was NOT people & relationship driven, no matter how good their products or services, not matter how well-managed, has either gone broke or struggled to keep its head above water.  Get a good product or service to sell.  THEN forcus on helping OTHER people reacg their dreams.  THAT is your top priority."  His motto is : "Become A Mentor With A Servant's Heart."  Well said.

This makes the most sense out of everything I have ever heard as it relates to Network Marketing.  I thought "Network Marketing" was just that:  get into a company and bug everyone you know to join.

When the truth points out that no matter what company you join, if you can not build relationships with the people you want to join your business, you are not going to be in business very long.

I do not know about you, but I plan on being in the Network Marketing business for a long time.  And over time, I hope to be able to help anyone who asks for help.  I am not a "buy into my business and then I will help you" type of person.

If someone needs help, I am there for them first and foremost.

 To your success!

Right On!

A lot of company CEOs can't even spell MLM.  It's absolutely crucial that you ensure that the company you want to join is a 5 pillar company.

1) Company Management Experience and Integrity
2) Timing in the Industry and in the Company
3) Great Product
4) Compensation Plan where the average person can get a check
5) System to Teach and Train Everyone

You're So Right !

It is important to choose a network marketing company that places its people first and is aiming at trying to help them succeed but has a rock solid system behind it to do that. Having a company that is a 5 pillar company is awesome !

You are certainly right with that and I will take a look at the e-book

I agree!

Don't you just wish you could make everyone understand this?  It would save so much time and effort and heartache...

I had to learn the hard way but this time I did my homework first.

Thank you for this article, Dianne!
