It's All Biblical - Step1 in Successful Sales and Marketing
In the beginning...
A whole lot of what we see at BN and elsewhere is biblical. [Choose a different book if you wish; the message is going to be the same.] This probably requires some explanation. Step 1 for successful sales and marketing is getting into a relationship with another person. Network marketing is the epitome of this step. The reason that I call attention to the bible is just to point out that there is nothing new under the sun. All of the sales and marketing that you need to know for becoming successful has been available to the public for centuries. Computers and internet marketing have not changed human nature.
Does this still work?
Do you like to buy at stores where someone already knows you and acknowledges you by name? I sure do. I always thought is was because of my small-town upbringing. Now that I live in a metropolis, I seek out businesses where the employees make an effort to get to know me. Is this appealing to you, too? If so, guess what. It is appealing to "leads" and "prospects" and "recruits" of all kinds. If your business is based on price, you are heading for a dead end. If your business is based on relationships, you will have the trust and loyalty of your clients.
The role of marketing tricks
Copywriting that uses what I call marketing tricks entails all kinds of neat psychology. You don't have to look to far, even at BN, to see all of the tactics that Dr. Robert Cialdini explains in his book, "Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion." Scarcity, social proof, authority, reciprocation, commitment, liking. These are just the preliminaries. Whichever one or ones of these that you use must lead immediately to building a relationship. Just watch how Mike Dillard uses this approach. And Ferny Ceballos, too. Mike is so good at it that I bought the Magnetic Sponsoring system twice! (That's a story for another time.)
Bedrock of social marketing
Now put yourself in someone else's shoes - for the sake of being practical here, imagine yourself as a first time visitor to your website, landing page, blog, etc. Are you looking for a sales pitch? Are you looking for copywriting that screams so loud that it gives you a headache? Lots of landing pages offer these kinds of experiences, which most often leads to a quick Z-pattern visit and immediate exit.
If you have done good enough work to attract visitors, the most important thing you can do is offer a solution to something they are looking for, with a clear bonus of: -YOU. You are unique, so your Unique Selling Proposition starts with you. When you have something valuable based on your expertise, experience, skills, personality, etc., etc., then pull out all the stops and build your value. Imagine how you will stand out from the cyberworld of spam and scams when the real you comes across. This is where you success begins.
And one more bonus
Attracting others into your network increases your connectivity. This is a foundation for humanity. You will reap wonderful benefits from it, as will your network. Physical, mental, financial, spiritual, and emotional benefits. This is as old as the hills, er, the bible. Nothing new under the sun. Here's to your success!
