It's Quiet in Here
Better Net-worker is a great place to learn because it's quiet in here. I can choose what I want to read and ask questions if I am confused [often happens].I receive excellent answers to my questions.
Else where, Twitter, Face-Book, Stumble Upon, My-Space, these places are noisy and confusing. These are great places to be to build a following and make friends with people who are drawn to your way of doing business. They are also great for sharing valuable information with each other.
The confusion and the noise comes from all the information that is put in front of you constantly. After several months of trying to learn and trying to do every thing at one time [build a blogg, build a website, create capture pages, work on auto e-mail, monitize, create content] I finally realized that I was digging a hole for myself that was going to be hard to get out of unless I learned a little discipline.
I was a total comuter illiterate in the begining. I was fascinated by everything I was learning and I was enjoying myself immensly. [I still am]. But my business wasn't going any where. I had just finished putting together a website with SBI as the host and I had learned a ton of new information there and I felt a need to share.
It was at SBI that I began to learn discipline and how to focus on what is important in business building. What is important for me may not be for you. That is where the focus and discipline comes in.
There are many distractions out there [noise] and much of it is good stuff and maybe something I will need at some point but not right now. I have finally learned to say no, do it later. That is what discipline and focus is all about.
For me when I get stuck and out of focus I write something. I write everything I know about a given subject. If I don't Know what to write about sometimes I go to Hub Pages requests, and find a topic I know something about and start writing. I may not be the latest and best information but it is what I know and what works for me. I really enjoy sharing with others.
Mike Klingler in his latest webinar spoke about this very subject and that is what prompted this post. He spoke about the noise on the internet and how distracting it can be. I wish I had heard it ten months ago. It's noisy out there.
Please be Kind with your comments I am very sensitive:-)

Hey Sensitive One
You are so right about it being "noisy" out there. I just can't seem to get focused some days at all. The email inbox seems to be my biggest distraction. I have to learn to just not open it when I get on my computer (but you know, I might miss something important if I don't. LOL)
Mike's webinar was right on point. We have to learn to focus on what is important for us at the time. Thanks for the suggestion of writing something when we are out of focus. I never really thought of writing as a way to get refocused, but I'm sure going to try it.
I love reading your posts Grant. Keep up the great article writing.
Noise All Around
Hi Grant,
Thanks for bringing this subject up. An your absolutely correct when you speak about discipline. You have to focus on the task at hand and leave the noise behind... I'm so glad Mike Klingler brought this up on the webinar because the noise can really be a distraction....
BN is great place location because it is quiet here....
Continue writing, Grant. I'm enjoying it....
