Joint Venture Secrets: How I Blackmailed Jim Yaghi


The following description of events are true, despite what
Jim may say…

So over the past 2-3 months, by following the principles of
Magnetic Sponsoring, I’ve had the privilege of forming awesome relationships
with some of the leaders on this community. 
These leaders include David Schwind, Shiraz Khan, Justin, Christianson, Tim Erway, Jim
Yaghi and even Mike Dillard.

It’s been awesome being able to exchange ideas and better
myself by being forced to rise to the level of such a powerful association.

But not all of it is sunshine and rainbows on the MS
community.  Believe it or not, there are “smoky
rooms” and “back-room deals” that go on among the leaders.  “I scratch your back, you scratch mine”-type
of stuff.

And there is the occasional, “Do this or else…”, as was the
case with a recent deal I struck with one, Jim Yaghi.

You see, I’ve been in touch with Jim via Google Chat over
the past few months, exchanging ideas, masterminding, critiquing each others
copywriting and sales processes.  We’ve
become quite a duo and honestly, it’s the type of stuff that may evolve into
another very powerful internet marketing “inner circle”.

But somewhere along the way, Jim got a little too
comfortable and as was evident in the late night chat session between Shiraz,
David, Jim and I
… he probably started saying too much about how much “fun” he’s
had in Australia.  It’s the type of thing
that could eventually be chronicled in a movie reminiscent of “Blow”, “Fear and
Loathing in Las Vegas” or “Ferriss Buller’s Day Off”.

In fact, if you’ve read the now infamous “Late Night
Conversation with David, Shiraz, Ferny and Jim
” posting, you got a little taste of
this.

Actually, if you look closely, you’ll notice that I had to “censor” a
few parts, which maybe went a little overboard. 
Although, I did leave in the part about the incident with Mr. Yaghi and
a snarling bull with a long cartoon tongue.

In any event, his “secrets” didn’t really shock me.  They were just mildly amusing until Mr. Yaghi
mentioned that “Adwords had become way too easy” and that he had decided to
turn off his PPC advertising and force himself to master SEO.

Well the first thing I thought when he said this, “Hey, man!
If you’re not going to use it, teach me all your secrets.
”  But then I thought, hey we might be able to
turn this into an event where me and my subscribers can learn Jim’s AdWords
techniques on the same training call.

And Jim seemed pretty game at first to give us a few tips,
but I wasn’t looking for “tips”.  I
wanted it ALL…

Here’s the Google Chat convo:

3:20 PM jim: sure so
they know all about our strategies huh

 me: you mean the call? Yeah, the best
you got.

3:21 PM jim: i will
need to think about what to say that is new

 me: well, just what works. How you do
keyword research, where you get them? how you keep cost down and profits up?


5 minutes

3:27 PM jim: oh
that's easy stuff for sure

  slicks back hairs

3:28 PM me: and all your secrets too

  ALL

 jim: or else?

 me: I start spreading wild stories
around the MS.com community about you

3:29 PM jim: :O

  are you threatening me??:O

3:30 PM me: no, it's blackmail. threats are
different

 jim:
scratches head

  nods head

  ok

  :P

3:31 PM me: excellent. I'll delete all the
chat evidence from gmail after the call :)

3:32 PM jim: you're
sleazy lol

 me: good business to keep records of
everything....

  EVERYTHING!

 

Ha! I managed to twist the arms of an MLM adwords master and
create content specific for MLM on Google Adwords for my subscribers.  And just to make sure Jim didn’t try to back
out of our agreement, I logged some more of our conversation…

jim: good thing i didnt tell you about spending hours on end
watching old britney spears videos

3:34 PM me: well, now you did

 jim: see the
problem is that her music didnt grow up

  when she first sang hit me baby one more time she was the
age of that song but then she grew up and her music didnt

3:35 PM me: ummm. yeah.... sure... but you
like Metallica too right?

 jim:
metallica & san francisco symphony best album

  lol

3:36 PM me: ok, I still respect you then

 jim: i was
just studying her to learn about how to command an audience of tens of millions
around the world

  billions probably

3:37 PM me: oh, yeah... sure...

3:38 PM jim: do you
enjoy opera

 me: I'll forget we talked about
Britney Spears and we'll be cool.

 

… he didn’t learn his lesson and kept revealing more.  It’s ok though, now it just served as
insurance. :)

Valuable Lessons Learned 

Ok, ok. Let’s get serious for a second and put all joking
aside… or at least some of it.

Let’s take a look at the main points of this story and
hopefully provide you some value, instead of me just getting a kick out of
embarrassing Jim further.

  1. Powerful working relationships via the Magnetic
    Sponsoring Community are a definite possibility.
  • Forming mastermind groups with other networkers,
    regardless of whether they are part of your business pays off in more ways than
    one.
  • Future joint venture partners may be a simple
    chat or email away, if you lead with value and friendship first.
  • Joint ventures gives you the ability to provide
    your distributors, and list members some killer teachings and content you may
    be weak in.  It’s leverage in its
    ultimate form.
  • Having fun while doing all this makes for some
    awesome stories and copywriting.
  • You can make some awesome friends on MS.com
  • As hard of a time as I give Jim, he’s a great guy who carries
    himself with a ton of integrity and is a crazy freakin’ clever marketer.  He carries a goldmine of knowledge in his head
    and I’m damn lucky to call him a friend.

    Raymond and I are also very privileged to be his first JV
    partners for the AdWords training call we’ll be doing next week with Jim.  Adwords isn’t usually a very sexy topic for
    most MLM’ers, but Jim is so damn good at it, that I had to figure out what he’s
    done to be more profitable and successful, than any other marketer I know.

    Since then, he’s told me a few of his “tricks” and I’m very,
    very impressed. I thought I was pretty good at Adwords, but he took me to a
    whole other level.  Brilliant stuff.

    So if you are ever on the forums and Jim’s bestowing some of
    his Adwords knowledge upon you, take notes as if you were at a high-ticket
    seminar, cause paying big bucks for a Perry Marshall Blobsled Run might be the
    only other place where you can get that type of quality teaching. 

    And even then, it won’t be tailored for the MLM industry
    (i.e. your business).
