Are you intrigued by friends and prominent people in your companies and in Internet Marketing who are achieving tremendous results both influentially and financially?  I personally am very much intrigued by them!  I always ask myself, what do those people have that I have yet to discover?  One answer resonates:  RELATIONSHIPS!

Most of us are reeled into the Network Marketing industry unprepared.  We always thought that the school of life would give us an adequate foundation  to succeed in this business but we end up majorly disappointed.  Like I have always said, "Network marketing business is a simple business but not an easy business."  Once you get involved, prepare yourself for a constant evolution, correction and recognize the importance of humility because there will be many times where this industry will humble you - even if by force!

I have been blessed to have associated myself with successful people in the industry and I continue to seek wisdom from those who have succeeded before me.  When I ask them what the secrets to their success are, these are what they collectively share.  Please read the 10 Ideas To Help You Go Back To The Basics. They are quite powerful!

1)  Build relationships now, before you even need them.  Just as the book "Dig Your Well Before Your Thirsty" had said.

2) Identify your motives on why you do what you do.  Uncover what your purpose in life and direct your efforts towards that.

3)  Believe in a power higher than yourself!  I personally believe that God has made us in His image and likeness and that success is in our DNA!  We have been designed for success that's why we constantly seek success.

4) Believe first, then you'll see!  The first blind man to climb Mt. Everest, Erik Weinhenmeyer said "Believing is seeing..."  I couldn't agree more!

5) "Weigh your ego with your bank account and figure out which one weighs more" - that's a major lesson I learned from my mentor and coach, Dani Johnson.

6) Read, Listen and Participate - our fearless leaders Brig Hart and Steve Merritt couldn't stress this enough! Read a great book at least 15 minutes a day, listen to amazing inspirational spoken word CDs in your car - turn that into a moving university, participate in all your company's major function!  Just as Mark Weiser said in his Black Belt Recruiting CDs, "experiential belief far outweighs intellecutal belief!"

7) Be the master of your calendar - prioritize the activities that will get you closer to your goals and eliminate those that are fluff and are just distractions!  I am thrilled to be participating in Eben Pagan's Wake Up Productive Class!  Check out Time Management systems and strategies that will work best for you.

8) "Prosper Where You're Planted"...this is Biblical...God will not give you more if you are not able to be a responsible manager of what you have already been given...Identify areas in your life where you're not being responsible...is it with money, time, relationships?

9) Remember:  IT'S NOT ABOUT YOU!  When you meet people, be genuinely interested in them.  Use the acronym F.O.R.M. Family, Occupation, Recreation and Motivation - you will never run out of words to say because chances are the person you're talking to will keep on talking and keep the conversation going!

10)  Last but not least - YOU ARE THE BRAND!  With ego and pride aside, ask yourself, am I the leader I want to follow?  If you answered a resounding YES, then you're well on your way...if not, go read books on leadership!  John Maxwell has pretty amazing and short 101 books that are incredibly helpful!

I believe these are enough to get started in going back to the basics.  Yes, we all struggle with jumping in head first from time to time...A good friend Marshall Sylver once said "fail, forward, fast".  Your indecision is a decision so just decide on doing something...Yes, there are distractions, obstacles and challenges that stop us from taking a step towards the right direction.

When things get a bit overwhelming and almost unattainable, that's when we need to keep on telling ourselves "It's Easier Done Than Said".(by the way, we have a group with the same name right here on Better Networker so come visit us)  Talk is cheap...faith without action is dead.  Follow the leaders, do a little something everyday and realize that procrastination never got anyone anywhere...

If you have any suggestions on time management, books to read, websites to visit, and strategies to implement in it's simplest terms, we just might be able to "connect the dots" and find the missing link from where you are to where you wnnt to be!

Maybe you haven't asked yourself...where are you headed?  What do you believe is your ultimate purpose in life and how does that tie in with everything that you are doing in your life right now?

Absolutely!

Hi Elwood!

Thanks for your comment and your kind compliment...yes, I totally agree that due dilligence must be done before you get involved in any company!  Having been in my company for over 2 1/2 years, I may not know everything about my company but I know enough to know that this is the company I am proud to be associated with.  No company is perfect but all I know is that together, we're doing a lot of good for the world...

Warmly,

Emma
