Facebook ads are the place to be right now since Google has been suspending and deleting accounts in record numbers over the last 6 months or so.

 

With facebook now having 60,000,000 page views every month and around 1/20th the amount of advertisers, the potential here is enormous.

 

If you choose to pay per click, it will be quite a bit cheaper than it is, or was with Google Adwords.

 

Facebook ads are also more targeted. You choose who your ads are shown to and they also allow you to put a picture in your ad.

 

Set up is complete in a few easy steps.

1. Design Your Ad: pick a headline, a body and a picture... make sure you use a picture!

2. Targeting: here you can choose the location of your audience(county, state/province, city, etc.), sex, age, educational background, marital status, etc.

3. Pricing: choose the limit you want to spend each day and either choose if you would like to pay per click or impression and also set the limit on that.

 

Three easy steps to setting up your ads. After setting up your ad, facebook will first review your ad before it is shown. You will receive an email notifying you if it was approved or disapproved.

 

Now, just like Google Adwords, you're going to have to watch your account and keep track of conversions. Although it is less expensive per click, they can still add up pretty quick. After getting my first ad approved, I had almost 200,000 impressions and around 40 clicks in the first 2 hours!

 

I also suggest that you split test your ads and landing pages... try using different text with the same picture and vise versa. Always make sure your landing pages are relevant to your ads. Some ads may also work better in different countries. Set up different ads for each country you would like to advertise in.

 

For those of you that are looking to advertise your business opportunity, don't even bother!! Facebook will not allow it. To get around this, try offering some kind of training or give away an ebook, webinar, etc. on your landing page and advertise this instead of the biz opp.

Try using facebook ads as another advertising strategy for you business, but don't break their policies. They may delete your account.
