The step-by-step TUTORIAL  below has been prepared to help you set-up your new lead capture pages so you can start collecting leads as quickly as possible.

But the truth is, if you are already familiar with the BetterNetworker website, you might be able to set-up your own lead capture page without even using this tutorial. Yes, it's really that easy!

Here's How To Create Your First Content Ad And
Start Generating Leads:

STEP 1:  Login to your BetterNetworker account.

Before you get started you will have to login to your BetterNetworker account.

STEP 2: After you have logged in to your account click the “Add Content” Button.

 This button is located on the top toolbar of the BetterNetworker website. Pictured below:

STEP 3: When you click the “Add Content” button a new window will pop up.

This is the same window that pops-up when you add an article, video, or podcast to the Better Networker community. In this window under the subhead: "Generate Leads" you will see two lists of options. There's "Content Ads" and "Company Ads". Because we're adding a "Content Ad". You will want to click on the link that says. "Create a Content Lead Generator Ad".

This will bring you to a page with the headline: "Submit Content Lead Generator Ad"

STEP 4: Locate the "Ad Design Preview" section.

When you get to the "Submit Content Lead Generator Ad" page. You will notice that there's an "Ad Design Preview" section on the right hand side of the page. It shows you exactly what your ad looks like.

When you make changes to your ad you can see those changes instantly by clicking the "refresh" button under your new ad preview. It's the link that says, "Click to Refresh Ad Preview"

STEP 5: Change the color of your ad.

The first thing you will want to do is select the ad color palette pictured below:

By picking a color schemes from the drop down menu you can change the colors that show-up in your ad.

STEP 6: Write Your Headline.

The next thing you will want to do is write a catchy headline for your ad.

When it comes to writing headlines it's always a good idea to tell your prospects what they are going to get if they "opt-in" to your ad. "What's in it for me if I give you my name and email address?" If you have a really great give away or bonus then make sure you tell your prospect about it in your headline.

If you want your prospect to see their name in your ad then type "First Name" in your headline or body text where you want their BetterNetworker profile name to show up.

Keep in mind, this will only display properly if they are logged-in to their BetterNetworker account. The name that displays will be the name they submitted on their BetterNetworker account.

STEP 7: Write the body copy of your ad.

After you write your headline, you will want to write the body copy of you ad. This is where you will put the bulk of your writing.

STEP 8: Add your links.

You can also ad a link to your ad if you would like to send people to your website or blog for more information.

The "Ad Link Title" section is for the text that your prospects will read.

For example: Click Here For More Details:

The "Ad Link URL" section is for the actual link itself.

For example: http://www.betternetworker.com/

STEP 9 (Optional): Add your email address.

You can ad your email address to your Content Lead Generator Ad if you want to make yourself available through email. Simply copy and paste your email address into the "Ad Email" section.

STEP 10 (Optional): Add your phone number.

You can also add your phone number if you would prefer to leave a phone number where your prospects can reach you or leave a message.

STEP 11: The "Ad Form Fields" buttons.

This sounds more complicated than it really is. These buttons simply control how much information you ask your prospects to fill-in on your form.

If you keep the default settings the form will only ask for their first name and email address.

But you can also ask for their last name and phone number too.

STEP 12: Customize your "Ad Button Text".

This is where you edit the text that will show up on the submit button.The button your prospects will click when they have entered in their name and email address on your ad.

STEP 13: Save your new content ad

But don't forget to save! When you are satisfied with your text and the preview ad simply click the "Save Advertisement" button.

Congratulations!

You just created your first Content Lead Generator Ad.

Your content ads will display next to your content in the BetterNetworker Community.

The good news is that you can control which pieces of content your Content Ads show-up next to and it's really easy to do.

Here's How To Control Where Your Ads Show-Up:

STEP 1: Click the "Add Content" button

 You are going to click the "Add Content" button. This button is located on the very top toolbar of the BetterNetworker website.

When you click this button a new window will open. This is the same window that opens when you upload your articles, videos, podcast, and content ads.

STEP 2: Click the "Set Active Content Ads" link in the "Add Content" window.

You are looking for a blue link that says "Set Active Content Ads". It's under the headline "Generate Leads" and the subhead above it says "Content Ads".

Click the link that says "Set Active Content Ads".

This brings you to the "Set Active Content Ads" page...

Here you will see summary of every article, video, or podcast you have ever uploaded to the BetterNetworker community.

If you don't have any content uploaded to BetterNetworker then you won't be able to set your Active Content Ads until you have posted new content.

STEP 3: Set your active content ads

You can use the "Set All" function if you want one ad to display beside all of you content here in the BetterNetworker community.

The "Set All" function pictured below only applies your ad to the content listed on this page.

If you have massive amounts of content uploaded to the BetterNetworker community you will have to click the "next" button at the bottom of this page and repeat the process.

The reason for this is that we have users who literally have thousands of articles, videos, and podcasts on BetterNetworker. If everybody was allowed to update all of their content ads at once the BetterNetworker website would probably crash!

But you can also set individual ads for every piece of content you upload to the site. You can even create a custom ad for each article, video, and podcast you upload!

Simply select the "Active Ad" drop down menu from the "Active Ad" column pictured below.

You can repeat this process for every article, video, or podcast in your list.

STEP 3: Save your changes

 After you have set your active ads scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the "Save Active Ads" button. This will save your changes.

Don't forget to save your changes or you will have to start all over again!

NOTE: If you click the "edit" link beside any of your articles on this page it will bring you to your article, video, or podcast edit page. This is handy if you want to update your content while you're placing your ads.

QUICK TIP: You can also set your active ads while you are posting new content or editing old content you have already posted on Better Networker. There's a new option right before the "Submit" content and "Preview" content buttons. Pictured below.

Simply choose your previously created content ads from the drop down menu.

TROUBLESHOOTING: If you do not see your ads after selecting the drop down menu then it's possible that your ad was not saved when you created it. This will happen if you forget to click the "Save Advertisement" button when you are creating your ad.

Here's How To Edit or Review Your Content Ads And/Or See How Many Leads You Have Generated:

If you want to edit your new Content Ads themselves, see how many leads you have generated, or download your leads as a Microsoft Excel compatible CSV file then you will have to visit your "Edit/Review My Content Ads" page...

Here's how to visit your "Edit/Reviews My Content Ads" page:

STEP 1: Click the "Add Content" button

 You are going to click the "Add Content" button. Yes, this is the same friendly button we visit every time we upload new content to the BetterNetworker community. This button is located on the very top toolbar of the BetterNetworker website.

After you click this button a new window will open. This is the same window that opens when you upload your articles, videos, podcast, and content ads.

STEP 2: Click the "Edit/Review My Content Ads" link

 You are looking for a blue link that says "Edit/Review My Content Ads". It's under the headline "Generate Leads" and the subhead above it says "Content Ads".

Click the link that says "Edit/Review My Content Ads".

STEP 3: This brings you to the "My Content Ads" page...

This is also where you will go to see how many leads or "opt-ins" you have generated with your ads.

If you would like to edit either your content or your ads then there's a handy "edit" button beside each of your ads, articles, videos, and podcasts.

Here's A Quick Reference Guide For The "Edit/Review My Content Ads Page:

The "Ad Name/Content Title" column displays the headline or you ad or content.

The “Type” column shows you what kind of content or ad you are looking at.

The “Active” column lets you edit which ads are active.

The "Last Updated" column shows you when your ad or content was last updated.

The "Impressions" column shows you how many people have seen your ad.

The "Leads" column displays how many leads you have generated.

The "Rate (%)" column shows you your conversion rate.

And the "Download Leads (CSV)" column lets you download your leads.

STEP 4: Download your new leads

If you would like to download your leads then you can do so at any time by right clicking the "All" or "New" leads link and choosing "Save As" in the "Download Leads (CSV) column. This lets you download your leads as a Microsoft Excel compatible CSV file.

If you don't have Microsoft Excel or another program that views CSV files then an excellent free alternative for viewing your leads is Google Docs. You can sign-up for Google Docs by clicking here.

But you will probably have at least one program on your computer that will automatically be able to open this CSV file when you download it to your desktop.
