MLM Advertising Basics So That You Don’t Lose Your Shirt

Before you get caught in the hype and lose money like a maniac in the many platforms of MLM advertising that you can use to make your business more profitable, let me give a free word of advice:

“If you’re new in the Internet, you must know and apply the following MLM advertising basics or you’ll be out of the business sooner than you expect.”

These are:

A. Know Your Market: It’s very common nowadays to see all kind of business owners jump with both feet to the Internet and get all excited about taking their businesses to the next level. If you’re planning on doing the same with mlm advertising, watch out! First, you must study who’s your ideal customer and see if there’s demand for your particular business opportunity and/or products. The most effective way to do this is role-playing. Go to Google and play the customer. Do you see any important volume of people promoting what you want to offer? Good! There’s probably money in that market.

B. Build Your USP: This acronym stands for Unique Selling Proposition and it’s basically the way you’re different from your competitors. What makes you valuable in the marketplace? Is it all about “your” products? Could it be about “your” super-duper powerful comp plan? People are tired of the same hyped up jargon like this…What makes you different when compared to other distributors? By creating fresh and valuable content you can attract others because they’ll sense you as a valuable person. (BONUS: Video Series and  Ebooks are great ways to deliver your content!)

C. Choose ONE Platform To Start: That’s right. While you can (and you must) scale your advertising knowledge to other places where your market hangs out, it is critical that you focus on one place FIRST to get it…In my honest opinion, the main search engines like Google, Yahoo and Bing are the most indicated for this task because you’ll be placing your ads in front of people who already looking for you. As Perry Marshall (Google Advertising Expert) says: “[In Google Ads] you only advertise to people who are looking for what you have right now…” and that’s exactly what you want at first because it gives you the change to really understand what you’re doing and take it to a whole other level in other places.

D. Tweak: Part of getting it, is to study what’s not working to change it. I think that a lot of marketers (not just those in MLM advertising) quit when they don’t realize what they’re doing wrong. In online advertising you must be patient but also be able to recognize when it’s time to change what you’ve been trying. Maybe is the wrong ad for that particular group of search terms…Maybe your landing page is not enticing people to request more info and become a lead. Etc. Tweaking is a critical process to achieve success.

E. Repeat (And Scale): Here’s the fun part…If you are successful in one place, there’s a very high chance that you can be successful everywhere. (As long as your target is hanging out there too!) Besides the main search engines already mentioned, you can advertise on Facebook and even contact other marketers to advertise to their lists of targeted prospects. Sweet huh?

As you can imagine at this point, MLM advertising can become a very exciting journey once you know and apply these basic principles…
