Review of LeadsLeap

Read More: Advertising

LeadsLeap is a unique downline builder (lead generation program). Unlike a safelist, you do not send emails to other members. Instead you create advertisements (that are very similar to pay-per-click ads such as Google Adwords) and these ads are displayed on the LeadsLeap blog, website, and in weekly newsletters sent to all members.

This method solves the problem that plagues most safelists, namely that many members create a junk email address at which they receive safelist mailings. They never look at that “junk email” account, i.e., they never read the emails you send them.

Here’s a summary of the Pros and Cons of LeadsLeap:

LeadsLeap PROS:

  • Unique system means that your ads are much more likely to be seen by other members.
  • Members can earn credits by clicking on your ad, which means you at least have a chance to show them your landing page. This feature leads to an inflated CTR (Click Through Rate), which you need to keep in mind.
  • The LeadsLeap blog and newsletter contain valuable Internet marketing advice; it’s not fluff but real, helpful content.
  • You build a downline within LeadsLeap 10 levels deep.
  • You receive some free extras as a member, my favorite of which is SlideSense, a “slide in” graphic that appears at the bottom of your website. You can see one I created on my Best-MLM-Opportunities.com website. It has generated leads for me.
  • As a free member, your ad appears to your downline. That is a positive if you can gradually build a reasonably large downline (remember it goes 10 levels deep). However, it’s a negative if you don’t have a way to generate interest in LeadsLeap and build a downline.
  • As a Pro member ($19.95 per month if you take the One Time Offer when you sign up–If you upgrade later it’s $26.40 per month or thereabouts) your ad is shown not only to your downline but also to all members of LeadsLeap. Your ad appears on the LeadsLeap website, blog, and email newsletter. You also have the opportunity to earn affiliate commissions on the sale of Pro memberships to your downline. My commissions have almost paid for my monthly membership fees.

LeadsLeap CONS:

  • LeadsLeap will not work as well for newbies because it will be harder for you to advertise LeadsLeap enough to generate sign-ups and build a downline. Of course, that’s true about any downline builder, i.e., it’s harder to take advantage of them when you’re new because you don’t have an established website or blog or email list from which to promote them. So, if you are new to Internet marketing and you decide to join LeadsLeap, be realistic with yourself about how long it will take to create a downline. Use it as one of many lead-generation techniques.
  • The LeadsLeap affiliate program doesn’t pay out until you reach $100 in commissions! That’s an outrageously high cut-off. Many affiliates will never reach the $100 mark and will consequently never receive commissions they earned. I can understand a $25 payout threshold but $100 is way too high. In addition, you have to wait 60 days after you earn the commission before you are paid (to take into account chargebacks and refunds).
  • The program offers a widget you can place on your website or blog. If someone clicks on a link (it displays titles of LeadsLeap blog posts) you earn one credit if you’re a free member and five credits if you are a pro member. The problem with that set up is that clicks on the LeadsLeap widget will take your website or blog visitors away from your site–something you don’t want unless your visitor is clicking through to a site that makes you good money! One measly credit is hardly worth it to lose one of your visitors. The credits should be based on impressions, not clicks. Thus, as you might imagine, I recommend not using the LeadsLeap widget.

Here are my stats for LeadsLeap after using it for 14 weeks:

1st Level: 46
2nd Level: 103
3rd Level: 15
4th Level: 24

Total Downline: 188

Free Impressions: 1465
Free Clicks: 83
CTR: 5.67%
That gives you an idea of what you might expect with a free account with as many members as I’ve recruited. Remember that the CTR is inflated because members receive an ad credit for clicking on your link.

PRO Ad Clicks: 2671
As you can see, you generate a lot more clicks as a Pro member.

Leads: 49 (members who have clicked on my ad and filled out the form on my landing page).

Here’s the ad I use:

MIKE DILLARD
Chose only one company to represent.
Be in his downline.

Click the link if you want to see the landing page. I’m posting my ad here because it’s important for comparison purposes for you to see the quality of the ad and landing page.

Fees paid for LeadsLeap Pro membership: $89.78
LeadsLeap Affiliate Commission Earned: $83.15

RECOMMENDATION: If you can generate a steady stream of sign-ups, LeadsLeap appears to be a good lead generation program, particularly with the Pro membership.
