Give Something Away to Help Grow Your Business
People usually don't like being pitched and people usually don't like doing the pitching. Most people you approach with a business opportunity won't exactly be looking for a business opportunity. These are statements reflecting my own personal experience within network marketing.
People are resistant to sales. People hate to be sold but they love to spend money. In network marketing the best possible way to get someone into a business opportunity is to give them something. When is the last time you passed up a free sample in a grocery store, especially when you are hungry?
The way to get around sounding pitchy or approaching everyone you know who may or may not be motivated enough to pursue a business opportunity, is to simply give them a free sample. People like free whatever the product may be. People will be more receptive and even if they aren't interested, they will at least take a look. Ultimately, the more people that take a look at your product will equal the more people that will eventually join you in business.
People won't always be chomping at the bit to join a business but they will be open to checking out your product. Whether you are in health and wellness, prepaid legal, gold and silver, or any thing else that may be out there. I am, personally, in the penny auction business and we have a great free sample being 500 free bids to try out.
Most new people want to promote the affiliate or the business side of things but I suggest leading with your product. If people like your product, then they will become customers who perhaps may order from you monthly, providing you with residual income. The more people who become regular customers will eventually become business partners. What greater person to have in the business than someone who is in love with the product?
So instead of focusing on pitching everyone the business, just promote the products and offer free samples. There also is a fine line there as well. You should responsibly give free samples out. Not everyone wants to go head on into a business but if exposed to your product they may be more so inclined to buy. Once they buy, see if they want to continue buying and if yes, then it's time to pitch the business opportunity!
If you lead with the business opportunity, then you always have a back up being the products. If you lead with the products, then you have the business opportunity on the back end! If you lead with the business and then try to pitch the products, it may come across as if now you are just trying to pawn off the products after being told "no" to the first offer. Having the business opportunity on the back end puts you in a much more powerful and postured position!
