Learn Affiliate Marketing! Which Business Model is Best for YOU? Part 2

Read More: Affiliate Marketing

In the last section of this article, we went over the importance of figuring out what your personal style is when it pertains to online marketing techniques. Are you a right or left brained person?

After figuring out who you are and understanding which style works best for you, it’s time to review the 5 basic affiliate marketing models and see which ones fit you best.

Here are the 5 basic affiliate marketing business model:

1. Paid Search Model – PPC, CPA, CPM, etc.: The paid search model is best for left brained people who like to analyze, optimize, and essentially “set it and forget it”. Here, you set up a ppc campaign (or cpa, cpm, ppv, etc.), analyze the data, optimize the results for maximum profits, and move on to your next project while you rake in the cash.

Here, you are able to see results faster; however, there is an upfront investment. But, given the proper education on how to set up the campaigns, you’ll lose less and earn more. This is the model that fits me the best.

2. Natural Search Model – SEO (Search Engine Optimization): SEO can please either the left or right brained person. Natural search results are the listings on a search engine that show up due to the relevancy of the keyword that was typed in by the user.

This is the FREE way to drive in traffic to your site. Although this is the FREE alternative, it does take more time to bring in traffic and profits. There are a lot of things that factor into your site getting on the first page of the search results. Things like: keyword relevancy, title tag, authority of the site, site’s age, how frequently it’s updated, backlinks, and so on.

3. Email List: Email lists can also please either the left or right brained person. Marketing via your email lists is one prime example of ‘relationship marketing’. This is also one of the most lucrative marketing methods simply because most people don’t buy your stuff right away.

But if they opt-in to a newsletter or e-course, they give you permission to continually market your product to them and remind them that you exist. This relationship could go on indefinitely – or until they ask you to remove them from your list.

Email marketing can be as personal or as short and sweet as you want it to be. Some affiliate programs provide you with a newsletter series that has been pre-written. All you have to do use your email marketing tools such as:  aweber or icontact, plug it into your account, set it up, and forgeddaboudit!

Subscribers will run into an opt-in box either on a landing page (most likely via paid search) or on a blog (usually via natural search or social networking).

4. Content: Content marketing is more for the right brained person who enjoys language arts, social interaction, and stuff like that. These people prefer marketing through providing valuable information rather than upfront advertising. This is where people “get paid to blog” so to speak by writing content to post on blogs, article submission sites, press releases, newsletters for email subscriber lists, etc.

This is a FREE method to drive in traffic but, it takes time for the traffic to build and it also takes up quite a bit of time since the person is usually busy writing content either for themselves or for someone they work for.

5. Social Networking: Social Networking is another method that is best for the right brained person. It’s very similar to content marketing where it involves providing valuable information to the public through the means of: blog promotion, answering questions on blogs and forums, encouraging friends to follow you on social networking websites such as Twitter, Facebook, and MySpace.

This is another form of relationship building and thrives on social interaction which ultimately results in profits – but takes a while and requires continuous content output.

So where do you fit in?

How fast do you want results?

Are you willing to invest some money upfront?

Are you an analytical person or do enjoy being a member of a community and provide people with valuable information?

Like I said before, it’s wise to utilize all 5 of these affiliate marketing business models even if outsourcing projects that don’t fit your persona is what’ll get the job done. These models work well within a system and if you can figure out a way to blend them all together… you’ll be unstoppable!

Peace!
