MLM Advice — Be Like Home Depot?
It would be silly if Home Depot only had one product on the shelves and it will kill your business if you do, too.
"Now you've just gone too far, Derek! People need to focus on one thing and one thing only -- my upline told me so!"
Well good luck with that...
Seriously, imagine walking into Home Depot and they have aisles and aisles of one thing and one thing only -- doesn't matter what -- just lots and lots of it.
To help the story along, we'll say the one thing is a particular brand of phillips head screwdrivers.
Maybe they're even the best phillips head screwdrivers around, but it's not gonna do Home Depot any good.
"Why, Derek? -- they've found a niche."
Why yes, but there niche is too small! How long do you think they can stay in business only selling screwdrivers?
Not long.
You see, Home Depot does have a niche -- but it's a large enough niche to be profitable.
Their niche? Obviously do-it-yourself home building products.
They set up shop selling things that people would need to redo and fix up their homes.
They focus on the "average Joe" -- contractors building homes from scratch usually go elsewhere.
They attract people looking to fix their homes up and they offer everything they would need to do so.
How does this apply to Network Marketing?
Well, what business are you in -- fruity juice? skin care? phone plans?
Wrong!
You're "job" is to build networks of people who buy and distribute your company's product(s).
You do this by helping people in your downline be successful in building their own networks.
These people are going to need training, coaching, business tools, etc...
So why on earth would "your shop" only be offering fruity juice?!
