Article Marketing for Beginners
Are you intimidated at the though of writing an article that could be published on the Internet for literally millions of people to view? If you answer 'yes', then you have a lot of company.
There are a few things that hold people back from attempting to write articles. First of all, they are not sure about the subject matter that they should choose to write about. If you are writing purely for the pleasure of writing, then you would write about things that you felt strongly about and that you had some expertise in. However, many people wish to have their articles published to help them generate leads for their business. If this is the case, then you would want your subject matter to be able to relate back to your business.
One of the main stumbling blocks is the feeling that you don't have enough material. This is just about the easiest block to get over. Just Google search your subject and you will find literally hundreds, if not thousands, of postings dealing with the very subject you plan to write about. Read at least six or seven of these postings and get a general idea of where you would like to go with your article. It goes without saying that you absolutely do not copy another persons material.
There is nothing new under the sun! No one person has the patent on an idea so you can get as many ideas from these people as you think you need. You will find that the same ideas are mentioned in a number of the articles. The difference is, everyone has their own unique way of saying something. The very things I am writing about at this moment have been said by others numerous times. However, I do not say them in the same way as anyone else. If you can get over this stumbling block, you will be well on your way to producing articles.
You might not have realized it, but it is recommended that the article be between 400 - 600 words. At this point in my article I am up to 350 words and I feel like I have only just begun but in reality I am nearly finished. This is not like trying to write a book. You will absolutely not get writers block while writing 400 - 600 words. In fact, you might find yourself trying to cut the article back somewhat, because it went too long.
You want to make your first paragraph one that grabs the reader's attention. The middle is sometimes scanned and then they jump to the end of the article. Your final paragraph has to wrap everything up neatly for them. I suggest that you try to write as you speak. You want the reader to see your personality come through the pages because you want to motivate them to visit you on your website. If you were to outsource your articles, it would be very difficult to create a personality through your writing, so I would highly recommend you give article writing an honest effort.
The rewards are fantastic. Even my first articles got on the first page of Google and this was without any writing experience or training. People are not reading your article to critique your grammar, they are looking for information and if you deliver, they will be happy.
