The vast majority of network marketers who get convinced of the brilliance of the idea that they need multiple streams of income wind up instead with multiple streams of outgo.

Consider all the money-makers you’ve signed up for. Consider all the $$ you’ve paid for them. And consider the income they bring you right now, this month.

To borrow a line from Dr. Phil, “How’s THAT working for you?”

There’s a better way. The narrower you focus, the better chance prospects & customers will see you as high quality. And NO SERIOUS BUILDER commits to a network unless they consider it high quality.

How To Send Prospects Racing For The Exit

When you promote a smorgasbord of opportunities, you undermine your network. When you try to appeal to everybody with your multiple streams of products & services, smart people will not take you seriously. And why should they? You have no identity in their mind.

Result?

No trust. No loyalty. No network. Your people are easy targets for some narrowly focused networker.

You waste time & money searching for more opportunities to create your multiple streams. But loss of focus = loss of power. You ruin your quality perception, because, to consumers, specializing = quality. You’re a mile wide and an inch deep. You're weak everywhere instead of strong somewhere. You struggle to promote numerous unrelated products & services that you don't know well. If you do establish a money-maker, you waste that profit on your other unsuccessful “streams of income.” You lose efficiency, competitiveness, and you get a smaller market share.

In my opinion, you are WAY better off to do your research, choose the RIGHT opportunity, and FOCUS ON THAT ONE!

It tells them where they're going, inspires dedication and creates

a belief in their minds that you'll be a big success.

It gives you power over all those “multiple streams of income” guys.

If prospects perceive that you know exactly what you are doing,

exactly where you are going, and that you care about their success, then you will get more than your share of people to work with.

Good people want to work with good people for a good company.

The finer your focus, the more power YOU will develop, because you will be perceived as ... and will become ... an expert. The cream of the crop.

Your #1 obligation is to stay in business, now and in the future. You do that by building your own web. And you do THAT by helping others build their own web. Written by Michael Dlouhy.

By Golly I Think You've Got It....

You don't even need glasses to see your point. Great information for the uninformed. Now will they see what you have so clearly identified. Lets hope so. Thanks for sharing.

Focus Focus Focus

You're absolutely right, Stefanie! For some of us, it's a challenge to stay focused, but being laser focused results in exponential results! Thanks for the reminder!!!

Staying focused is hard enough...

...when you only have one business! So what is Mr. Kiyosaki referring to? I believe he is talking about multiple stream of truly passive income: Where your money is what is working in diversified arenas... not you. :-)

Focus or Fail

Stefanie,
Absolutely right! Stop trying to be all things to all people. Good comment from Lyn too.

The Power Of One (Stream).

Hi Stefanie, Great article. So many "guru's" post all there little affiliate links everywhere and çI for sure don't hell don't see them as someone I should follow.

Focusing on one strong business will get you much further and will leave a better impression on your prospects.

Thank you for sharing these idea's.

Focus, Is one of the keys to success

Stephanie, I think you make a great point, you need to focus on one
thing at a time. If you don't your mind will become scattered and you will become overwhelmed. Focus first on your business, make sure you read your P&P's, and compensation plan and understand them. When you realize you are in a 5 pillar company, nonly then can you move on. Don't be a Home business owner who focuses on trends. (Facebook, Twitter etc...) Focus on your your company. After you get into a good company, only then do you start developing relationships. Great article and value,Stephanie
Take care and God Bless

Therese

Great Article with Value.

“How’s THAT working for you?”

Great article Stephanie, Many people try to do what the guru's do and for most network marketers it isn't a good idea.

Thank You

Multiple streams of income is a wise choice

And no I'm not referring to signing up and promoting 2 or 3 different MLM businesses - I agree with you, that would diversify your attention too much. What I am referring to is what every successful business owner knows: never put all your eggs in one basket. Scenario to think about - Let's say you have a system where you have 200 people downloading your (for example) free ebook which is a lead generation tool. Out of those 200 people you will have 2(?) sign up in your primary opportunity but 50 of them will buy into your system and also promote the ebook for their own primary business (won't happen but let's pretend). If your system is an affiliate system (your getting paid for introducing them to the system) and you make say $10 off every affiliate who signs up under you then your income will be 50 people x $10 = $500 each month in your pocket. Something happens to your primary business (where you have 2 downline from the 200 possibles) and you still have an income of $500 each month from your affiliate system. Make sense? Your income is more secure and you are not totally dependent on your MLM company.
That is two streams but consider if you become an affiliate of your web hosting company, your autoresponder, GoDaddy etc. (all tools you would be recommending to someone anyways) so you might as well create a scenario of multiple streams of income.
Investing your profit creates another stream of income.
Many, many possibilities of creating income without taking your focus off your primary opportunity.
Just a matter of how critically you look at it,

The Truth Hurts

I agree, focusing on one opportunity is way easier than focusing on multiple streams.. Doing a few small things over a long period of time will build a very successful lucrative business that's duplicatible for everyone you sponsor. It also allows you to get organized and ensures that your doing productive work instead of busy work.

Focus And You Will Own Your Life!

I learned this from my mentor Michael Dlouhy. I am a "blue" and for me, focus is the most important thing~ I feel at peace when I focus. I give my ALL toward one task and I get so much more done without the craziness of my mind going in 10 directions.

When it comes to opportunities, people loose credibility when they play with multiple sources of outgo. It's best to marry your baby "business" and call it home. Excellent article Stephanie. Keep them coming!

Now I See!

Thanks for the article Stefanie. Sometimes we all get lost in the forest of day to day life and cannot see where we are heading. This Article will help me keep focused!
