How To Get More Readers, Votes, And Comments On Better Networker

Read More: Article Marketing

Hey, wouldn't it be great if every time you visited your posts there were more comments, votes and retweets? I think that would be really cool and more often than not it happens if you follow a few of the ideas we'll talk about today.

I'll also show you how to make your articles easier to read than they are to skip. It's a trick I learned from an old dog of a copywriter. Victor Schwab. Never met him personally... but he was an amazing writer.

SIDE NOTE: I believe he's the guy who wrote the headline for Dale Carnegie's "How To Win Friends And Influence People". He might also be the guy who wrote the headlines for Frank Bettger's "How I Raised Myself From Success To Failure In Selling" but I'm not 100% sure.

Anyway...

It's been called "The Double Readership Path"

And it's all about subheads...

THE AIM is to give your readers the gist of your article in the subheads and titles. So they know what they're in for. So... even if they refuse to read your articles they still know enough to comment or "retweet" what you have to say. Which of course, brings you even more readers who will often do the same.

Because There's Really Two Types Of Readers

You have readers, who read almost every word you type. Then you have skimmers. A lot of readers online are skimmers. They won't read every word you type but they do want to voice their opinions and be heard. It's almost like reading is painful for them. So make it easy to do. Make it effortless.

Like Telepathy...

If you want to get heard, your writing has to be so good it's almost like it got beamed into your reader's brain. It's almost telepathic. Your prospects are busy... so do everything you can to make reading fun and easy for them.

And break it up anyway you can.
• Short sentences
• Short paragraphs
• Underline, bold, italics
• Bullet points and numbers
• Easy words.

And above all -- use SUBHEADS

Subheads And fishing Hooks

WHAT do they have in common? They both hook. Writing without subheads is like fishing without barbed hooks. Very few people are making full use of subheads on Better Networker which is really a shame because it's an easy way to pull skimmers into your copy.

We're talking about an easy way to almost double the amount of people who actually read your content.

Pictures Are Basically Subheads...

Don't shy away from pictures either. A picture is nothing more than a visual subhead. It serves the exact same purpose. To hook readers and pull them in.

How many people do you know on Better Networker who are actively using pictures in their posts? Not many, a few leaders ahead of the curve... So it's a really easy way to stand out from the crowd right now.

When It's All Done... Put It In A "Doggie Bag"

WRAP things up for your reader. Put it in a little "doggie bag". I'm not sure if you're familliar with the expression... but it's when you go to a cheap restaurant and they let you take home the leftovers in a paper bag or box.

Your articles are the same. Sometimes your readers want a second course...

So summarize your key points.

Keep them powerful.

Hammer them home. And you'll get more comments. Sometimes this is the only thing your readers will bother to read in the first place.

In Short...

Make your writing so easy to read... they'll read it out of sheer compulsion. It will be easier to read than to click away. Which means you'll get more votes, more "retweets", more comments, and possibly make it into the "Best Of Better Networker E-mails" more often. :-)

Yes Great Article

It is so much better to read an article an comprehend it if its broken down and keep simple. I am a skimmer but if an article is easy to read I will read it all.

Painting the Pictures with the Words...

Well hello Jason,

Looks like the cat's out of the bag...Thanks.

Hey now, where can I get a quick tutorial on how to post these pictures in my articles? It's been on my mind for a few weeks now and it's time I figure that one out.

Any suggestions where to go? I'd really like to start interlacing the written pictures with real ones.

Thanks for everything buddy, you're ALL RIGHT!

Thanks Jason

There are so many great points here. Most of the time I am a skimmer, but there are some articles I'd read word to word... I know why now.
