Part 2 - How To Write a Blog That Gets Money From Other People's Sites
righto. So today i heard you guys liked my last blog post about how to write blogs that make money and aren't dumb. And you had a lot of questions they didn't feel like answering. Today i want to show you how to get money from other people's websites using article marketing.

Just to get a show of hands...
how many of you, market your blog with article marketing?
Keep your hands up......if you give directives at the end.
Directives at the end. Are you telling them to leave a comment, do you make them optin? Any kind of instruction about what to do next.
Good, good.
If your hand's still up, then pat yourself on the back, mate.
Because that content you write, what it does is
it gets permission to GIVE COMMANDS to your reader.
So here's a rule of thumb:
On the internet, and in life in general...NEVER give more than one instruction to another person...
If you want to get a thing done, just do it one instruction at a time.
People have different abilities to remember. The time between two instructions, especially long ones, makes people forget. So they feel "confused" and do nothing.
...when a prospect's done reading,
they're faced with a choice:
Do they want to continue to explore your website...
or...
Are they done.
If they've had enough of ya, they're probably going back to their email or their facebook or their tea.
And you... and they... are done.
Here's the funny thing.
You woulda been losing them all along the way down your post. To the very last line. Nothing anyone can do about that besides taking a class in creativity and story-telling.
Happens to the best of us, mate.
But if you're a shoddy story-teller, you've got to make up for it with a good directive.
The directive....illuminates...ONE path....
The guy who's engaged with your writing will continue down the same path, all the way to whatever you want them to do.
Just don't screw it up. Because if you make them stop and think, it's out of your hands.
Effectively, we're taking away the effort of them making a choice.
Because if you don't give a directive at all -- or you confuse them with more than one -- they'll have to THINK if they wanna hear more, or leave.
gettin' Money From Other People's Sites
If you like article marketing and you're doing it on other people's sites...here's the secret to getting the MOST money.... from the LEAST work.
Remember. Your article resides on someone else's website.
For all intents and purposes, you don't own it. The traffic doesn't belong to you. And you have no control over who comes through.
Your article is a doorway. Screw up the directive... and no one comes through.
Here's the exact command you should ALWAYS give:
"go here to get more"
That's it.
Whenever you put your content on someone else's website, the only instruction you should ever give a prospect is, "click to get more".
Then it doesn't matter where you send them. It could be an order page, it could be your blog, it could be your squeeze page.
As long as it takes them through a path that eventually ends with an order page, you're fine.
Without an order page at the end, you don't get to make money. Sorry!
But follow this simple tip I gave you:
Add a SINGLE command at the very end of every article or content you put on someone else's website.
And, mate...that's how you get money from other people's websites!
Great job guys, you've been fantastic today. If you'd like to see how you can accelerate getting money from other people's sites, have a look at my buddies Jim's & David's free traffic blueprint, The Google Switch. It's free and it's a bloody rippa!

Good stuff Jim
I'm amazed at the simple stuff I learn here.
This is something I'll start today.
I have not been direct enough in my directives so
thanks for that little tip Jim.
Love it!
Keep it simple. Goes back to the old capture page rule. ONE action is what gets results.
Keep em coming Jim!

Yes Master
Just tell me what to do next :)
I have to admit, in the past I have been relunctant to ask people to do something. Funny thing is, when someone writes good content or provides me with value I am quite happy to do what they ask, most times.
Done and done
I am in the middle of reading the "Goole Switch", which I had already downloaded, thus following direction number 1. Now I am leaving a comment, thus following direction number 2. I know I won't get to see you make a fool of yourself... so I'll have to be content with being entertained while learning, ultimately the better option anyway.

Why Write If You Don't Ask?
Hey Jim,
Yep, why bother to write if you don't have a call to action to further your purpose to write?
I do believe you should give away as much info as your reader wants and will accept, but if you don't have a purpose why are your REALLY doing it?
No matter if it is on your own blog, another person's site, or an article directory you must command what you want your reader to do. Every Internet Marketer should know and understand this.
Good reminder Jim.
you guys = good
you guys are so great leaving us all these nice comments. thank you! and YEAH! google switch = good.
Jim...you're amazing Your
Jim...you're amazing
Your writing is so fresh and interesting! I love it love it love it! And the google switch is possibly the best thing since padded bras hehe
The Directive
Jim,
Sometimes I don't give them the whole article on someone else's site and make them click more or continue to read the rest. Is this wrong? When I do give the whole article I put a P.S. at the end to send them to an opt-in page. What are your thoughts?
Thanks for your leadership mate,
Craig White
Craig, that's one way
Craig,
i think that's one way to do it bro. test it and if it works for you, great! your directive there still needs to be the same "click here for more". make sure you engage them before they're asked to click. should be good!
jim
