4 Super Awesome Online Brands You Can Learn A Lot From

Let’s get straight to the point. I’ve spoken about building your personal online brand before, but I don’t think I’ve ever given live examples to show you exactly what I mean.

Well, in this post I want to not only remind you that you should be working on building your brand, but also show you how these 4 blogs use the tips I’ll be sharing.

Below you’ll find 4 online brands that stand out and just plain “work” for different reasons. Your job is to try to incorporate these ideas into your brand building to get the most out of yours. I hope you find it useful.

Here we go:

Brand #1: HypeBeast.com

hypebeastHype Beast is an online magazine for fashion and culture – that’s fancy wording for a blog about fashion. It’s hosted on the wordpress platform and it’s hugely popular in the urban community.

The thing it does incredibly well is the fact that they picked a topic and stuck with it. Every post has to do with a new jacket, a cool watch, some fancy shoes, clothes and brand new sneakers that haven’t been released yet.

The readers of this blog visit it to get “what’s new” in the fashion industry and they sure know how to deliver it.

The takeaway - Pick a niche that you’re passionate about and stick it out UNTIL it starts working.

Brand #2 – Blog.2CreateAWebsite.com

2createwebsiteThis blog is owned by Lisa Irby and is also very popular in the “online business” space. The blog is powered by wordpress and thesis and is very well designed.

The thing Lisa does very well is keeping the same look and feel across her multiple social media platforms. This helps her build recognition in the mind of her audience, which increases the chances of them becoming loyal readers.

Twitter, Facebook & YouTube have been branded with her logo and background – that’s how you do it. Check out her profiles below:

The takeaway - I’m sure you know what it is. Make sure your different profiles have the same look and feel, so that your brand is quickly recognized.

Brand #3 – FourHourWorkWeek.com

timferrisIf you haven’t heard of Tim Ferris, you’ve probably been living under a rock for like 5 years. His blog is using wordpress and it attracts the lifestyle design crowd.

The thing that makes Tim’s brand so powerful is the fact that he’s his own Test Dummy. When you start experimenting and sharing your experiences with your audience, your not only teaching, but making them a part of your journey.

Another thing that this helps you do is avoid creating USELESS information.

The takeaway - Share your USEFUL experiences with your readers and they’ll be more likely to care about you and your content.

Brand #4 – JohnnyBTruant.com

johnnyJohnny has truly made a name for himself in the past year, appearing on CopyBlogger almost every week and also on IttyBiz. His blog is, of course, hosted on wordpress and he attracts the “online business” crowd.

The reason he made this list of awesome brands is because he uses stories in his writing, that resonate with people. Your goal is make a lasting impression when a visitor first come to your blog, and telling a story is a great way to capture the visitors attention long enough to make a connection.

The takeaway - Along with sharing your USEFUL experiences, wrapping them around a fun, exciting or inspiring story will help you get more readers.
