Blog To Success

In Network Marketing, self branding is a way to show people who you really are. There's no better way to show who you are, then through a blog.

A blog consists of unique articles you can write to bring out your personality and spread it to everyone on the web. These unique articles should have copious value in the eyes of your subscribers. Bringing this value to others, widens their eyes to your specific knowledge. The value given in the articles should show leadership, which is absolutely crucial in self branding. You could write all the articles in the world, but if you don't show some sort leadership to the reader, they won't hesitate to close the page. Remember, people buy from people, not from their opportunity.

In your articles, showing passion towards what you're writing about is a great way to explain the meaning behind what you're telling your subscriber. Whether you know it or not, your subscriber can tell if you're full of it, or true to your word, by what you write. The best way to show your passion is through write copy techniques. Now, I know what you're thinking. How could I show passion through write copying? Well believe it or not, write copy shows the real you through your words. You can't just type up some article and get people to understand your passion through words. This technique is called, "word pictures". Your readers can't be there in person to understand what you're trying to get across to them. Using word pictures allows your reader to see exactly what you see, only through words. Being very, VERY descriptive in your articles is a way to paint the picture to your readers through your words. The basic underlining behind copywriting is to write your articles the way you would say them out loud to another person. This can be tough, believe me. Once you train your fingers to type the words the way they would come out of your mouth, you're set. You're probably thinking, "If I type the way I talk, my articles wouldn't seem very professional". Believe it or not, professionalism is very important, but it doesn't explain to your readers what your train of though is. Paint the big picture through the words in your articles and watch how people are able to connect with what you're saying and how much easier it is to start a relationship with your readers.

Depending upon which blog software you're using, in each and every article you write, you should make tags and keywords that are relevant to the information you're sharing. These keywords allow big search engines to categorize your articles, and allow targeted people to find your articles with these tags and keywords through the search engines. Start by searching Google, Yahoo, and other major search engines with the keywords that you would use for the article before you actually write it. Check how many other articles and information there are on the same niche you're writing about. You want to make sure that you'll be able to rank somewhat high within the search engines, to receive more traffic. If you search, and find that there's a relatively small amount of information on what you're writing about, then you're good to use those tags and keywords. If you find large amounts of information about the same thing, you're going to have trouble ranking up your article. You'll want to find some tags and keywords that are relative to your article, with less information about the same niche you're writing about.

Another thing very important to your Alexa, and search engine rankings, is having other sites linking to your blog and articles. A great way to do this, is to find other blogs and websites that offer information relative to what you write about and send the owners an email or message. In the message, you should ask the owner in a polite manner, if (s)he would like to swap links and link to each others blog/website. Most blog/website owners would be happy to do this, because it allows them to rank their website higher, as well as yours. A way to go about this, is to create a separate blog/website page, with all the website URLs you're linking to. A better way is to create a small, yet elegant blog article explaining the website, what they're about, and what they offer with a link to the blog/website. This shows the owner your courtesy, and will engage them to do the same. Don't be afraid to scratch their back because most likely they'll return the favor.

Use your blog to capture your readers information. If you check out my blog, which you can find on my profile, you'll see that I have a really nice opt-in box in a sidebar widget on the right. When my readers can't get enough, they opt-in and request I send them more information. Boom, I have a lead in which I can share additional information with. Now they're hooked. They'll open their email inbox each day waiting for my autoresponder to send them more and more information of value that will benefit their business. Get an autoresponder, and create an opt-in box on your blog, and watch your list of leads grow. It can be a lot of work if you're not familiar with HTML, but there's many tutorials that teach you everything you need to know. If you're still having trouble, shoot me a message and i'll be happy to lend a helping a hand.

Blogs are very beneficial to you and your business. With practice, you'll be able to write top of the line articles and bring in endless amounts of leads. If you have hosting, and know how to install blog software (very easy), don't hesitate to do so. If you don't, check out http://www.wordpress.com and signup for a free blog.

Can you comment on % mix of text, video and photos?

How should the mix of content work on the blog to get the highest rankings? With mostly text, I am usually found at the bottom of page 1 on google for Talking Tall and I blog every two days.

Hello Alison

Unbelievable. Your name is the exact same as my little sisters, and if you check out my profile and read my about me, you'll see why that amazes me.

To comment on your question.
There's no real need to chop and butcher your text to get it optimized for search engines. You need to learn how to place quality keywords within your articles.

Keyword density is very important as well. Good keyword usage is supported not by the amount of times it is used in a web article, but by the combinations of other relevant keywords it sits beside. Each individual, but related keyword, helps narrow the search down even further.

Fresh Content Rules

Your point is dead on about writing in a style the same as you would be speaking to your prospect. People tend to get bogged down in thinking they need prefect grammar, punctuation, etc. You don't want to look like an idiot, but you don't have to be perfect. Conversation creates authenticity.

Also, make a commitment to working on your blog consistently. Several times a week is best and the search engines love fresh content! It helps boost your rankings much more quickly!

EXPECT Success!
