Blogging Basic Training: What is OffPage SEO?

Have you heard the gurus talk about Offpage SEO? Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is not necessarily considered a ‘Basic Training’ topic. I believe, however, that the ever changing landscape of the internet dictates that knowing advanced methods sooner rather than later is wise. Using SEO strategies in your blogging is a great way to get your blog ranked higher in the search engines faster.   Most are familiar with onpage SEO. With the use of the tool SEO Pressor, even the novice can take advantage of onpage SEO strategies. We’ll talk about on-page SEO another time.

What is Offpage SEO?

The general definition of Offpage SEO is: The activities you perform to help your site rank higher in the search engines that are NOT on your web page. The short version: Offpage SEO is linkbuilding or backlinking. When it comes to Offpage SEO, quality beats quantity any day of the week. Consider these factors when linkbuilding to your site: Google PageRank of the sites that link to yours Quantity and Quality of the websites linking to you Quantity and Quality of the inbound links of the site that is linking to you Are any of the sites Authority Sites? While there are certainly more factors that play into offpage SEO, I believe the ones listed above are the most important.   There are oodles of ways to achieve Offpage SEO. Here are a few:
