Blogging For Profit - A Simple Guide To Make Money With Your Blog

Some people who blog are not really blogging for profit as maybe they are not aware of some of the things you can do with a blog. A blog is a very powerful tool and it is a site that Google loves and is giving a lot of respect to bloggers.

Through my keyword research over the last couple of months I have seen more and more blogs listed higher in search engines than websites with higher page rank. So this has got me thinking about a blog and a website and how much easier it is blogging for profit.

I had a website a few years ago and to keep updating it took all day, now with my blog I can do the same thing within a couple of minutes plus, with the right keyword research and SEO, it will rank higher than a website anyway.

So let's look at some of the ways you can use your blog as a money making machine.

• You can add Google Adsence to different parts of your blog.
• You can sell advertising space on your blogs side bars.
• You could add a PayPal button to buy products direct from your blog.
• You could even add your Amazon account to your blog.
• If you want to can add as many affiliate links as you like to your blog.

Now I know what you're think, you can do all of this with a website and yes you can, but think back to what I said earlier. In most case Google will rank a blog higher than a website.

The reason is simple, Google likes to see activity on a site, now a blog is updated everyday or so where as a website might be update once a month or even longer depending on the product or service.

There is also something else to consider and that is your time, you can update your blog in a matter of minutes where some websites take hours to make a simple change. Your time can now be spent a lot better on other activities within your business.

You should also consider the cost, most blogs are very cheap to run, something like a few dollars each month, but a website could cost many more times that so you don't get into profit as quick as you could.

I'm not saying that websites are a bad thing; in fact they are great as long as they are used in the right context. But if you are a small business owner or home business owner then having a blog could be far more profitable than a website.

Blogging for profit is a great way to make money online is you use some of the tools I have listed above. If you use this and know how to advertise your blog you will be able to enjoy a very secure future.
