Do Your Marketing Activities Revolve Around Consistency?
All marketing activities and concepts revolve around consistency.
Add to that, predictability too.
Why?
It feels trustworthy and comfortable.
And, it creates an expectation from your audience/prospects/customers you can successfully fulfill.
You might get tired of your message much quicker than your audience does. This doesn't mean reinvent yourself and throw everything you've done up to this point out the window.
Consistent Marketing Leads to Attention
You may not get noticed the first few times someone hears from you. You might hear the crickets, and see the tumble weeds rolling over dust. There is a lot of competition for attention.
Be consistent.
It takes awhile for your audience to register that you are talking to them. But after six or seven or 20 or 500 times, there might be recognition.
Or perhaps they don't need you yet. When they do, you'll be there.
But what would happen if you stopped talking to them after attempt #10? Or if you totally changed your message?
You'd screw all your hard work up, that's what would happen.
Be consistent.
If you know what you're providing "out there" will help the people you know it will help, then keep saying it. Be consistent, and stay after it for as long as it takes. Believe that what you do matters.
This doesn't just apply to marketing, it applies to life in general.
I was reminded of the "Consistency Principle" the other day when I was shoveling snow (for about the 10th time this winter), and I was given three compliments. Up until that point, there was never a mention.
Watch this short video that further explains consistency.
Marketing Consistently Creates Momentum
Consistency leads to momentum.
You can use Momentum to track and measure your success.
Sure, you might have been through (or going through) hard times. Money might be tight. Your work schedule probably hinders your social life.
Persevere. Be consistent. Create Momentum.
Your consistent work ethic will take you where you need to be. Keep faith in that. Remain focused on where you want to go. Be inspired by your own drive. After a couple of months, or a couple of years -- all of that pushing will create momentum.
I'll say it again because it's that important -- momentum is what you want to use to track and measure success.
The money you make, and the people you meet (or work with, or serve as clients) are stepping stones. They're indicators that your momentum is building. It's the momentum that should make you feel good.
Be consistent.

Priorities
Hi Eric,
I don't think there is any bigger obstacle for any of us than consistency. We spend so much time learning and polishing our tools and then aren't consistent about using them.
