Have You Blogged Yourself Yet??

Read More: Blogging

One of the best things you can do for your network marketing business is to set up your own personal blog. You may ask why since most of the time people simply go with the website provided through their company.

That's what I did and I can honestly say that I did not get one single purchase made through that particular website.

By setting up your own personal blog you can attract people by adding some value into their lives rather than just being another one of those strangers online pitching something to them.

Whatever type of company your involved in....let's say skin care. You could be writing posts about skin care like tips or you could be writing personal reviews on your products.

By doing this you eventually will create a following. People will revisit your website because they enjoy reading your posts and will more likely be open to the products your are selling.

Make sure to include a way for you to follow up with a blog visitor like using anauto responder like Aweber.

By having a way your visitors can sign up for more information or a free newsletter you have a way to keep in touch with them......experts have actually shown that it often can take up to 7 marketing exposures in order for a customer to make a purchase.

Another thing is that there are so many ways to drive traffic to your blog.....

By joining social networking sites like FacebookTwitter & LinkedIn you can create a profile about yourself and include links to your blog.

You can post comments on other related blogs which allow you to publish your URL....but remember your comments should build your credibility not appear that you are just advertising.

You can also post comments in other industry related message boards and forums.

The more active you are in these online communities the more attention you can draw to yourself. Just remember to be yourself and be genuine.

Be sure to keep up with your postings.....if people see you haven't posted anything new in a while chances are they won't be coming back. I would recommend a few times a week if possible, after all...even a short post is better than nothing at all.

Of course this way isn't going to create million of dollars and leads overnight. It take time to build that presence and following.....but if your experience is anything like mine, posting links to my company site did squat for me.

If you're new to the concept of blogging and not very web savvy I would recommend starting with Blogger.com (Like Me!)

There are also sites such as

WordPress.com

LiveJournal.com,

www.Squidoo.com .....and many others

There's also so many free turtorials and how to videos you can find online to help you with your blog, it's aweome!!

You don't have to get it perfect right away just get it going!!! You can learn how to do all the fancy stuff later on :)

Happy Blogging everyone!

Yes, Thank you

I have blogged myself! LOL

In fact, I just set up my blog about 2 months ago and it is indeed the BEST way to get yourself out there and branded. Even better when you DON'T assosciate yourself with a company or product. Just write what you are passionate about, learn some tricks as you go (and as you suggested) and people will find you.

The keys are patience and consistency.

Great advice and a great article Cassie. Thanks!

Thanks, Cassie

I have blogged, but not consistently - it's an amazing reminder you've put here. It also reminds me of Wallace Wattles,
A day spent doing effective things is a successful day.
Blogging is effective - and if you're doing it consistently, you will have successful days. Fill your year with that, and you will not be able to measure the money you made that year, because you will be paid for that work repeatedly.

Yes, I've just set up my blog.

You headline draw my attention because I've just set up my personal blog few days ago.

I am a newbie in this network marketing business and I know it is really important to set up a personal blog in order to share your view and add value to other (this is the key point that I learn since I join this industry).

There is really a lot to learn in this business and that is not so easy for me who really not good in writing (especially not in my mother language - English)

Please do visit my blog and give me some comments so that I can improve it.

Thanks in advance.

Question about websites and blogs

Cassie, I have set up my own blogs but I don't understand how you get the email addresses to do an auto-responder. Most blogs like squarespace or wordpress won't let you do that. How do you get the information and then follow up with them.

Judith Sherman — Sat, 09/05/2009 - 2:50am

Thank You Cassie

Well put as I am working on my blog as we speak,
and you are rite on with this,

Hi Judith, As far as I am

Hi Judith, As far as I am aware of you cannot use autoresponder forms in free blogging sites. In order to do that you have to host your own domain and use WORDPRESS.ORG instead of the free version WORDPRESS.COM, If you would like to see an example you can check out my blog www.nurulchowdhury.com, I had to buy my domain name and host it then install wordpress.
Depending on the hosting company, it will cost you around 4$ to 10$ per month and they give you a free domain for a year.

I hope this has helped. If you wish to ask me more then please do not hesitate.

Nurul

Autoresponder & Tech Maze....

Hey Judith.

I just wanted to give you a heads up that you can put autoresponder forms on blogger blogs{ http://www.blogger.com }. I have a couple set up and they work fine.

Here's one if you want to see it http://www.MLMSanctuary.com

.....and Hello Doris :) :).....I know it can get a bit crazy with all of the "techie" stuff on sites like wordpresss etc....

....but it really doesn't have to be that way....again....I think the blogger blogs are a great place to start your blogging adventure.

Not very "techie" @ all and plenty of templates to choose from.

Have a peak @ the blog I mentioned above....It should give you an idea as to what you can do with a blogger blog.

Hope that helps guys :)

I love blogging!

Cassie this is a wonderful post and thank you for posting it.
I have been blogging since '95.
I've designed blogs for medical, homeopathy, my own business and of course personal.

I agree with you Cassie when it comes to my company's website and not really getting much notice over there.
I've gotten many new customers from my own blog.
I can customize it the way I feel is appropriate to the business and so on.

I'm also just set up my blog couple month ago and launch my blog on my birthday 28th July 2009-syedakramreviews.com

Remember a blog focus should not be to sell but to gain trust and build good reputation.

Autoresponders

Judith--

Squarespace will let you put in a capture widget for your autoresponder. Wordpress.com will not. If you go with Wordpress hosted by yourself, you absolutely can add capture widgets.

All of the autoresponder services have step by step guides to creating a capture form which then give you the html code to input on your site. You would use a Text widget in a Wordpress sidebar or add it using an HTML block in a Squarespace section.

Then someone simply fills out the form and they are automatically added to your list in Aweber, iContact, or whatever autoresponder you choose to use.

Hope that helps.
