The Heart Of Your Business, Creating Your Blog [Part One]
You don't need to over complicate things, it really is simple to do, even if you have no technical skills and even if you've never 'blogged' before.
The main thing is to get started!
Get your blog set up on wordpress.org it is different from wordpress.com as you will be hosting the blog yourself. This way you will own all the content you publish.
Here is what to do.
Step 1: Go to Go Daddy and buy your domain name
Step 3: Choose the look and feel of your site, what colours best represent your brand? You can select a free theme directly from WordPress or search on the internet for free and premium themes, Theme Forest and Woo Themes offer a wide selection of WordPress themes.
The Meaning of Colour
• Blue: business, corporate, trust, calming
• Green: wealth, money, nature
• Red: power, energy, bold, passion
• Yellow: positive, optimistic, sunshine
• Pink: romantic, feminine, soft
• Purple: royal, elegant, spiritual
• Brown: rustic, earthy
• Orange: warm, mellow, friendly
• Gold: rich, wealthy
So now that you have the basic framework for your blog set up you can now ask yourself how you want people to feel when they come across you or your brand. Would you like them to feel inspired, empowered or educated? To get a better understanding of how this could work for you go and visit your favourite websites and take a note of how it makes you feel. Then figure out your unique style. Is it entertaining, funny, story-telling or passionate?
In terms of adding value you need to ask yourself what the 3 biggest benefits your target market will receive from your blog, the content you offer and the programs you promote. Then target what you have to offer around these benefits.
Your tagline goes on your header to express the essence and purpose of your brand. To help you come up with a relevant tagline think about who you are serving (who is the blog for), what you are providing and your unique style. Your tagline should be short and to the point, enabling anyone who lands on your blog to be able to know what your blog is about within 30 seconds.

Your Free Gift
What will you be offering to your audience when they come and visit your blog? Are you able to provide an "ethical bribe" in exchange for them joining your email list? I must point out here that the purpose of the offer is to pique curiosity. You want to make the offer irresistible!
If you are using a marketing system like My Lead System Pro you will have access to cutting edge marketing training that you could offer your audience for free.
Once you have a clear vision of your target audience just ask yourself:
'What do they MOST want more than anything?' and 'What are they looking for?'
Then just give it to them in a simple breakdown. For example, 5 Quick Steps, 3 Simple Secrets, Guide to [fill in the blank], or Blueprint. Present an overview of the solution they are most looking for and do not get into the details of what you have to offer.
Next you want to create a headline.
Your headline should be short, sweet and concise. Include the big benefit and speak directly to your target market.
