Because there’s very little I’m more passionate about than helping other determined home business owners make their way through the minefield that is today’s Information Age MLM / network marketing without getting their appendages blown off, nothing inspires me more than when I hear from one of you guys from around the world. 
 
So when I got an e-mail recently from Robert Bucci, a sharp minded network marketer and beginning blogger who'd subscribed to my MLM BadBoy Blog, asking me for more new blog posts, expressing concern about other people “hijacking” my mlm blog, and asking if I have any suggestions for him on getting his own blog off the ground, I figured I’d post the answers here in an article, so that I can help anyone else who might have these questions and concerns and hasn't gotten them answered yet.

Here’s The Real Deal, No Bull$#@%, Lowdown On How To Pimp An MLM Blog For FREE…
...6-figure, ‘BadBoy Genius’ style.
 
Now the very first and most important thing you have to get nailed down before you set up your mlm blog, is exactly what its purpose will be. What function do you want it to perform for you and your business?
 
Here’s where a lot of cats fall on their face, because they’ve got a faulty premise for their blog from the very beginning.
 
Regardless of all the noise going on around the Internet about using your blog to make $40,000 per day while you sit around playing Halo 3 on Xbox live, for the big-money leaders in the MLM / network marketing game, your blog should perform three main functions:
 
1. It should publicize your persona, knowledge, and know-how as a leader. – be yourself, be truthful, talk straight and candidly, give up the good stuff in tips, and unpucker your butthole and have a sense of humor.
 
2. It should allow you to attract and connect with other people who are kindred spirits. People who vibrate on the same wavelength. People who feel your unique, personal philosophy and style speaks to their soul. – write your posts with your target audience in the front of your mind. Imagine you are having a face to face talk with them individually and don’t hold anything back.
 
3. It should directly and indirectly help build the size of your list, and guide people towards other websites and resources you have, so you can further build and deepen a mutually beneficial relationship. – consider using a pop up or stationary opt-in box to your autoresponder or newsletter on your blog pages, as well as links to your other resources.
 
Now I know you might be thinking I left some stuff out. “What about adsense? What about affiliate banners and links?” 
 
Well, it might feel counterintuitive, and it definitely runs counter to all the “get rich quick with your blog” hype that bombards you every day, but consider this:  Instead of thinking about what you can gain and take, use your blog to give away as much value to people who are hungry for it as you can. 
 
This is one of the key lessons I was taught by one of my own mega wealthy mentors, and since I’ve been approaching it that way I haven’t been doing too bad either. 
 
Let’s just say it feels damn good to be able to go shopping and buy my new wifey pretty much whatever she wants without looking at the prices. Sweeeet!
 
Look, give massive value to others freely without worrying about receiving in return, and I guarantee you’ll never lose.  For what ever reason, this is just a universal law.
 
Which takes us logically to the next critical thing about your blog:  don’t post garbage on it.
 
Only post the most valuable information that you feel your readers will be interested in first, then think about what you care about second. If you can’t be put to use in your readers lives and businesses don’t post it.
 
“Ooooh, your little puppy took its first pooh-pooh on the newspaper today?” 
 
Yeah?  Who gives a sh*t? 
 
Post that crap on your MySpace or Facebook page, or Twitter somebody who has so little life of their own that they care about your dog’s bowel movements.
 
Use your MLM themed blog to share some information that someone else can use to generate the income necessary to live their own dream lifestyle, then they can sit home all day videotaping and contemplating the finer points of canine defecation.
 
This brings me to another concern Robert had in his e-mail to me. He wrote “… some folks are hijacking your blog by entering self-serving comments just to sell their own product…”
 
Trust me, don’t worry about this stuff. Remember what I said about universal law? Well, you cannot outrun or outsmart your Karma. You will reap what you sow. 
 
People who are doing that type of junk  –  trying to trade lumps of coal for two carat diamonds. Tryin’to hustle their way to wealth  –  they’ll never prosper. 
 
I’ve seen it over and over. Don’t even waste time and energy focusing on it. Just stay focused on what you want, not what you don’t want.
 
 
The Almighty ‘T’ Word
 
Now getting traffic to your blog is a subject experts routinely teach 3 day seminars about at $5,000 bucks per head, but let me give you some of the 20% action to get you 80% of the results, (which is the slight edge lazy millionaires are always looking for anyway.)
 
One of most important things to consider is the name, and specifically the domain name, you choose for your blog. 
 
It’s not absolutely essential, but you give yourself a huge advantage if they both contain the main keywords that people who would be interested in your blog are most likely searching for. 
 
Secondly, be sure you use keywords inside your blog posts that match the subject matter of the post. The best way to get ideas on these for free is to use Google’s keyword tool. 
 
Just google “adwords keyword tool” and you’ll find it easily. 
 
Here you can type in one keyword you think people might be searching for, and it will give you bunches more that are related to it. Then you use these as much as makes sense in your posts. 
 
But let me caution you on something here; Remember I said don’t post garbage? 
 
Don’t just throw up some bull$%#@, nonsense posts packed with a bunch of keywords to try to get traffic you can peddle your affiliate banner offers and links to.  Even if you do get the traffic, the people who come ain’t gonna stay, and they’re never coming back because your blog posts will be worthless to ‘em.
 
Forget chasin’ the short money.  Give value.  Connect.  Build relationships.
 
What I can tell you is that the easiest way I’ve found to get rollin’ with a fully Google and SEO optimized blog for free, in like 10 minutes, is using the Free Expert Wordpress download. So there’s a big tip for you Robert. 
 
When you go to download the free version, you can check out the additional benefits of their paid extra support services if you want. I got the extras cause it’s extremely useful if you’re serious, and it’s like a one-time, lifetime cost of $49 bucks or something ridiculously cheap like that, but you don’t have to get it to take advantage of Expert Wordpress.
 
Either way, just 3 clicks and you’re up and running, and if you start posting using the guidelines I’ve talked about here, you will get traffic with your Expert Wordpress setup blog.
 
Now, if you haven’t already, you’re gonna need to register a domain name too Robert, and the best place I’ve found is Godaddy, although I gotta tell you, even though they’re going to try to sell it to you, I wouldn’t recommend using their hosting service. It takes a fuckin’ P.hD. to try to get a wordpress blog running on it, whereas my favorite, inexpensive host service, the crazy simple and much more dependable Hostgator, installs your Expert Wordpress blog in one measly click.
 
Oh, someone a few days ago (sorry I can’t remember your name, but I get hundreds of emails every week! I’ll remember it eventually) wrote and asked me about which email autoresponder I recommended. Well, I’ve tried damn near every one on the market, and personally, the one I’ve found to be easiest and most powerful, is GetResponse. Not to mention you can even use theirs FREE as long as you want and it has NO subscriber limit. It’s off the hook. 
 
So, as I said, this is just the basics, but it’s definitely enough to get a serious business owner started strengthening their networking business with a blog. If you have any specific questions, post them as comments or e-mail me like Robert did, and I’ll answer them in a future article or blog post.
