If you have been working on a blog for a few weeks or a few months but you still have not had very much traffic then you could be interested in these three simple steps to increase web traffic to your site.   If you are getting less than 20 - 30 visitors a day - it is called being in the Google sandbox. Of course you know what a sand box is like and that is not where you want to be when it comes to web site traffic. We all know the more traffic you have to your information the more likely prospects will find you.     The first thing I did with little effort on my part that took about 10 mins, if your a slow at typing. I took a look around at what some of the successful blogs were doing and came up with three tactics that helped to double my website traffic in a month.   First, I made the most of Technorati tags. Word press has "simple tags" that makes this job easier and Squarespace has a place in the configuring's that you can set up tags for your pages. Technorati is simple to use and gives your blog a boost. It will also help you "claim your blog" and give it value to others that they recognize it.     2) I placed a few FeedBurner headline animator blocks on some of my most popular pages and after a day or so I noticed a significant increase in traffic for 5 minutes worth of work on my part.     3) Finally, I made effective use of trackback links to popular sites. If I commented on a post on another site I would make sure that I set up the appropriate trackback for it. The results from this are varied depending on the site and post that you are linking to but since I liked to comment and interact with the wider blogosphere anyway, it was free traffic!   In just one weekend web traffic increased 20%. Using free tools feedburner, technorati, and trackbacks with commenting on other blogs. Your goal in blogging to is attract loyal targeted readership. Getting people to leave comments opens the blog up to more than just about me - but also leads traffic back to them. Commenting on blogs is part of Web 2.0     http://angelabrooks.squarespace.com/network-marketing-branding/2009/11/2/three-simple-steps-to-increase-web-traffic-blog-traffic.html
