10 Major Problems With Static MLM Lead Capture Pages

In order to do well in any online business you need a way to capture leads and then market to them.  As online MLM marketers we have been taught to use static lead capture pages to do just that.  But there are 10 major problems with static capture pages that make them a huge no no in the web 2.0 world...

Problem 1
If a site visitor doesn't opt in then and there you will never see them again.
No new information is ever added and therefore no reason to ever return to the site.  Why come back and look at the same offer you have already seen?

Problem 2
No way to connect with the site owner or visitor except through the form. 
The only way your reader will ever get to know you is if they did a search for your name online and happened to stumble onto something.  The information on the site never changes or gives a new insight into who you are or what you are up to. 

Problem 3
Search Engines hate them!  They don't rank well.  The are a pain to get indexed.  They are a nightmare to use with paid advertising mediums like Google Adwords or other PPC ad companies.  In fact Google and the other search engines have declared war on any money making or home based business capture pages. 
Mostly because they offer no new content and no helpful information which brings us to our next problem. 

Problem 4
No helpful content or information.  They don't add anything to the online community.   They are static, no new info, no new content.  Just the same old sales pitch that was there since the site was launched.

Problem 5
Difficult to create.  Now there are some website editors that can make this a bit easier but to have really good looking capture pages you need to invest a lot of time or money into making them stand out. 

Problem 6
Need a really strong offer.
If your offer is the least bit weak you will have wasted every lead, every penny invested and every ounce of energy that went into getting that traffic there in the first place.  With nowhere else to go or reason to return, you can kiss that lead, cash and effort good bye!

Problem 7
No way to get feedback from your visitors.
Once a visitor arrives at your capture page, that's it.  There is no way to communicate with you, share an opinion, get a dialogue started or build a relationship.  It's all one sided. 

Problem 8
People hate giving away their details to someone they don't know!
Your parents told you when you were really young not to talk to strangers.  This is the same.  These site visitors don't know you.  They don't trust you and most are very leery about leaving their personal details with a stranger.  With no way to build a relationship, how will these people ever get to know, like and trust you?

Problem 9
They offer no way to build any online equity.
Every marketer that wants to make it big online needs to understand the person with the most land wins!  If you get in front of the right people with the right message the most times, you get the business.  You need to build online equity and to do that you need online real estate.  Capture pages offer no chance to increase your exposure online.

Problem 10
They piss people off!
This is huge!  Most people use the internet to search for helpful free information.  So when they stumble onto a forum post that you have offered helpful info and a link to get more of it and they end up at a capture page or sales page guess what?  They will click the back button faster than you can say "Thanks for stopping by". 

People don't like being sold to.  They want to find the information for themselves from people they trust to guide them in the right direction and then make a choice about what is right for them.  Capture pages push people's buttons.  Plain and simple.
