Problem Client of the Year!
Today i lost my shit!
It's this client, you see.
Totally high maintenance. Interferes with everything. Everything is sent back for review 10 times. Totally been pissing me off!
Actually, i've been pretty good at suppressing my rage until today.
We've put a lot of TIME into this client's traffic project...
Almost 10 times as much as any other client, for half the price (one of those 50% discount buddies i've talked about before).
Now, it's true this client isn't making use of even 5% of my team's skills and better judgment. He'd have been better off hiring a $20/hour technician or designer with no knowledge of marketing to build his landing pages to his specs.
Actually, no...i think we still cost him less.
I mean, I started to literally just FORWARD messages from this client to my team.
He does all the reprimanding for me, he nitpicks for me, he makes them repeat work for me. I try to keep out of his way because if i said anything it would be opposite to EVERYTHING he says!
But the truth is, my team is having their time DRAINED, producing an inferior product, for a lower pay-off, AND in the end we're going to get blamed when the client runs what he thinks is OUR campaign and it flops.
(Except, this is NOT a YaghiLabs production. It's a HIS-DOOFUS production delegated to my staff.)
At which point, we'll be asked for MORE free revisions, and keep going back and forth until this client FINALLY gets a FUGKING clue.
Maybe, one day he'll learn (hopefully not on our time) what every individual on my team has already spent years experimenting and learning BEFORE working on any client campaign at YaghiLabs.
See one of the things we do well here is find people who've already spent years in the trenches.
People who have done all the wrong stuff already. At their own expense or someone else's.
When they join our team, all they know is how to do RIGHT. The stuff that gets traffic and makes money.
Like our super-star Landing Page team! I love them (no homo).
Before they even start a landing page, they review the ads we wrote for the client to identify EVERY word that MUST be seen on the landing page within the first 2 seconds of contact.
Landing Pages have to continue a conversation started with the prospect in the ads...if we fail to continue that conversation, we run the risk the prospect leaves within 2 seconds of their arrival.
That's why I go back and forth, back and forth, back and forth with the copywriter coming up with writing that make sense AND includes ALL those words, expressed in a way that is immediately obvious.
Our top designer sits in on the conversation and dreams up ways to make the areas of the screen where those words (or images) appear, be the FIRST thing a person sees on contact.
HE BLINDS THE PROSPECT to everything else except those words!
I don't know how he learned to do that...
All i know is, even Gooroos' staff are still designing pages that waste the most critical 2 seconds for traffic. When and if they learn, they would have silently lost millions, burned through their affiliates, and let their affiliates make nothing...all before they ever get near as good as my guys.
So what's the moral of all this?
Get a Done-For-You traffic consultation. Don't drain our time. Pay full price. Shut the FUGK up and don't critique our work.
