Relationship Marketing Key to Generating Business Leads

There are many business opportunities out there and people are pouring into them like crazy.  Some of these opportunities are with companies that have been around for a long time and are solid, proven winners.  If you are one of those people that picked a good business opportunity I am happy for you.

But to my dismay, there are many companies out there that are pretty wobbly deals.  They assure you instant riches - all you have to do is become a member for them, pay your monthly fees, and then you can relax and rake in the dough.  WRONG, this is not how it works.

The fact is, there is a gigantic failure rate among persons trying to start a winning home based internet or network marketing business.  Close to 95% of the folks that join these online business, whether they are reputable companies or one of the shifty instant get rich schemes, will fail at making enough money to stay in business.

Assuming you picked a sound business opportunity there is one crucial fact to consider if you want to be among the doing well.

You have to understand the marketing it takes to make your business successful.  If you don’t know how to market you will most likely not succeed.

And, you need to understand the most important piece about marketing and that is the production of leads.

You must have leads so that you can convert those leads into sales and/or recruit them into your business.  The depressing part is that most network and Internet marketers break down in the most essential part of their marketing - lead generation.   And the plain reason is usually because they do not know how to market correctly. But you can without difficulty change that and get the education you need.

To help you achieve a better appreciation of the many pieces involved in lead generation, I am going to arrange everything out for you in a relationship illustration or marketing map.  (If you are reading this without the benefit of the companion video, you can view it on YouTube by doing a search for “Gensplan”.)

 
The most crucial piece of the map is at the center - the squeeze page.  The lead capture page is essential to your marketing and once you understand how to do all the assorted types of marketing they all point back to one factor – and that is your lead capture page.

No matter what kind of marketing you are doing, whether it’s Twitter, Ping.fm, MySpace, Blogging, etc., all of that traffic needs to be targeted to get to your lead capture pages. 

To reiterate, all of your marketing needs to drive all of your traffic to your lead capture page.

Primarily, the intention is for you to set out marketing using any or a blend of traffic generation - lead generation techniques.  Then your marketing hard work will direct people to your lead capture page and then you can turn that lead into a buying customer and/or a prospect to join your business.

If all you’re doing is promoting your business, and not capturing leads, you are doing your self a disservice.  You must capture the leads and build relationships with the people whose names you capture.

Now when you learn how to market correctly, you will learn how to master these different marketing strategies. You do NOT need to master them all so don’t get panic-stricken by how many types of traffic marketing there are.  Some very thriving network marketers only use 1 or 2 of these strategies, but they concentrate on them, get competent at them, and they take action with them.

You can make use of things like MySpace and Facebook to attract traffic to your landing page.  You can utilize forums and blogs to establish yourself as an expert and get traffic to your landing page that route.  You can also run advertisements on other people’s ad sites or use Yahoo Search Marketing to get traffic to your leads capture page.  Pick one to start.

Your lead capture page becomes the entrance point into your marketing retention and follow up approach, because the traffic that you capture there goes into your Autoresponder.

All the contacts go into YOUR autoresponder.  This is because you need to put together a list of your own customers and prospects.  This is a important point, because in the majority of internet business out there, all of your labors go to building a customer list for the company, NOT you!

You need to be doing this no matter what business you are in, whether it’s NuSkin, Empowerism, Rags2Riches, etc.  You need to get the traffic to your landing page so that you can collect the lead. 

The autoresponder becomes your email manager, your marketing follow-up system and your client retention structure. 

By running an autoresponder you can stay in contact with your potential recruits and over time they will be positive to either acquire products from you, enter your business (if you are network marketing) or be converted into resellers (if you are in affiliate marketing). 

Use the email messages you send off via your autoresponder list to help out your contacts.  After all, they wouldn’t have registered for your list if they didn’t think you had something to offer them. So don’t dishearten them.  Give them complimentary things, give them instruction, coach them, and tactfully sell them on your products or business. Give away them marketing training and show them how they can be doing well with the goods you are selling or if they join your business.  Under promise and Over deliver!

You can in fact earn an income from this.  We’ve set ourselves up with services and products so that we can earn cash even if people don’t go in with our business.  This is because we have built a catalog of names that we are creating relationships with.

So keep in mind, no traffic - no leads, and with no leads you can’t keep your business running. 

If you are already managing a business, you need to create a training plan so that you can put forward even more to your file of persons.  If you have yet to connect with a company you need to research a company that gives you with the right kind of marketing instruction.  A high-quality training series should show people how to set up their squeeze pages and autoresponder and train them on which types of traffic promotion will work best for them. 

Bear in mind, you don’t have to use every one of the numerous types of marketing to acquire traffic.  You can use the various tactics alone.  The critical thing is to use at least one of them, get accomplished at it and stick with it.

So don’t waste any more time. Start doing things the right way and get the marketing training you need.
