Most of us join network marketing to attain complete freedom from the 9 to 5 routine while earning a handsome income. However, there are a few network marketing mistakes many commit while viewing this field with rose-tinted glasses, forgetting that network marketing is no cakewalk.

To err is indeed human, but a network marketer mistake can spell the end of a business. A successful marketer has a clear vision of his/her long term goals, and then plays the game with integrity to emerge as a winner.

Here are some common network marketing mistakes that can be avoided:

  • Joining the wrong firm: This is probably the most common network marketer mistake. Selecting the right company allows you to have a stable platform upon which you can establish your activities, and can hence make all the difference.

Only endorse products that you believe in. Your faith in the product you market will in turn compel people to buy the same. Also, a good network marketing company will always provide you with easy to use effective marketing tools.  Select a company that is associated with DSA and has a BBB seal of approval.

Choose a company whose products and marketing resources are built on integrity. By avoiding an initial network marketing mistake, you save yourself half the trouble.

  • Not finding the right mentor:  Finding the correct sponsor and mentor allows you not only to have the best approaches and ideas, but could also help you learn from mistakes made by them.

Another major network marketer mistake is that many hesitate in communicating with their trainers.  Brush aside that fear and clear any doubt you may have in mind.

  • Not having a proper business plan- This is a common network marketing mistake that can be easily rectified by charting and finalizing your objectives. Set small milestones and focus primarily on long term planning.
  • Wrong attitude and overextending- Do not expect to earn $10,000 within the first month of your business. It is good to aim for the stars, but you need to be realistic and patient, and persevere towards accomplishing your dream- optimistically.

Also spread out your wings only as much you can fly. After your first taste of success, you may want to grab the bigger chunk of the pie. This could prove to be a major network marketer mistake, because without a proper system in place, you won’t be able to focus on all the aspects of business expansion. This could lead to significant losses.

Other network marketer mistakes include bad mouthing others, taking every negative response to heart, making wrong claims, and lacking leadership qualities. Once you overcome these drawbacks, nothing can stop you from becoming a successful network marketer.
