So when you saw that headline, were you imagining a Mad Doctor Capturing and Conducting Brain Surgery on an Unsuspecting Victim?

Well, maybe not…But we sure did!

Now, having said that, our visions were not of murderous deeds, but rather the Mad Doctor driving his victims to complete and utter bliss by feverishly TICKLING THEIR BRAINS.

So close your eyes and imagine that you’re the Mad Doctor…and you’re literally driving your readers to utter blisss… with YOUR COPY WRITING

How splendid would that be?

Very Splendid! Very Splendid indeed!!! Muhhahahahahaha

So Let Us Explain How This Works…

mad scientist How To Tickle Your Readers Brain | The SINGLE Most Important Tip to Guarantee Your Readers Will Open, Read & Respond to YOUR Copy Writing

***WARNING***

This IS NOT going to be the typical copy writing article that you may have read in the past…

In fact, we bet that you have probably read just about everything on the subject of copy writing, from breaking up your sentences into short groupings, to speaking directly to your reader, to bolding and capitalizing key words, etc, etc.

Now, those are all VERY IMPORTANT tips, and if you do not already know those things, then we STRONGLY encourage you to read and learn more about Copy Writing Basics.

But the purpose of this article is to ask you one VERY IMPORTANT question:

Are you ENTERTAINING YOUR READERS with your copy?

And don’t get us wrong here. It is also Extremely Important to bring MASSIVE VALUE to your reader.

But, here’s the deal…

People LOVE to be entertained, and what better environment to teach them in than one that’s entertaining?

Seriously! Studies show that people LEARN FASTER in an environment where HAVING FUN is encouraged.

If you don’t believe us, then just take a look at the ENTERTAINMENT industry…

People are spending Billions world-wide every year on entertainment.

How AWESOME would it be to cash in on that industry?

Can you say $$$CHA-CHING$$$

“So, Ken & Melisa, How Do I Make My Copy More Entertaining?”

Well, first of all, let Your Personality come through in your writing. Show your readers who you are and what you’re all about. Even your strange little quirks and sense of humor.

People want to know who they are learning from. They want to know more about YOU!

Next, Keep ‘em on the Edge Of Their Seat!

Tell A Story. You MUST be Painting a Picture and WALKING your reader through that picture from start to finish.

Let’s face it… Would you rather read read an instruction manual…

Or something like a funny joke, a humorous story, a thrilling action adventure, a fantasy tale… You Get The Picture!

Sure, instruction manuals have there place in the world. But Most People would rather have Razor Sharp Toothpicks SHOVED Under Their Finger Nails than to be forced to read that junk.

The Bottom Line is this:

You need to deliver value, YES, that’s a given. But if you’re not ENTERTAINING YOUR READER along the way… They probably won’t read your copy long enough to get to the VALUE that you are trying to deliver.

So, if you want more people to receive the value you’re offering, then You MUST become the Mad Doctor… and start TICKLING THEIR BRAINS with YOUR COPY!

Hey Mitchell,

No, seriously, thanks for the kind words. But I've gotta share the credit with my better half. We're like the Dynamic Duo when it comes to writing our copy - LOL!

I've been nosing around here for about a year now, but finally joined the ABN and started contributing 6 months ago.

Three E's

Hey Guys,

I always like to remember the 3 E's. Entertainment, Education, Enlightenment. No content goes viral without at least one of these.

You guys are definitely getting it down to a science (mad science?)

Nice!

Just mention beer in your copy and you can't go wrong.

Seriously, just be yourself and have fun in your copy.

Have Fun And Get Paid

We must always have fun and get paid or else people will say I am busy. That is why we must tell funny stories to get people back on track. Think about when we tell jokes to our friends they are asking for more. Same thing with stories. The more fun our story is the more likely our reader will come back to hear another one. Eventually when the timing is right in their lives and you have the foundation of that strong relationship they will ask you what do you do.

Re: Three E's

Hey Chris,

I love your take on it with the 3 E's. Great bit of advice.

We are working on getting it down to a science, not sure if it's mad science, or weird science - LOL!

Re: Have Fun And Get Paid

Hey Lawrence,

Having fun and getting paid...I love it! The great thing about telling stories is the writer loves to tell 'em, and the reader loves to read 'em! That's Win-Win...

Thanks for the comments.

How Simple Is That

You are so right. In today's business climate if you can provide entertainment along with knowledge how can you go wrong. I also love what you and Melisa are doing. My wife and I are just starting in the business in earnest and love what you and Melisa have built together. I would love to see more couple teams. Thanks for the inspiration.

Great article Ken.

It's interesting and true that people say they want education but they really want entertainment. If you can throw in some education and make it fun, it's a homerun.
