Internet Marketing Guru Ann Sieg, in a recent interview with David Garfinkel, demonstrated how a copywriting mindset could spell relief. With a copywriting mindset, communicating to your audience doesn’t have to be a struggle.

Internet Marketing Guru Ann Sieg goes on to say that without copywriting skills, we may not be getting our point across as we had intended. This is particularly true with network marketers.

Because we have preconceived notions about copywriting and marketing, we hesitate to learn some fundamental but necessary skills to make our communications more effective. Instead, copywriting is thought to be manipulative and marketing is thought to be bad.

With a copywriting mindset, you want your words to inspire, invite or influence others toward your point of view. What words do they need to hear that will convince them to take the action to get the results you are looking for.

Putting the other person first, you consider the thought process that they may go through as they receive your message.

MLM Guru Ann Sieg reminds us that we take the responsibility of our communication, understanding the importance of what we are doing and gearing our efforts toward a healthy outcome.

We are all concerned about our relationships, Internet Marketing Guru Ann Sieg points out, and with a copywriting mindset, you need to take the responsibility of being ethical.

First, it is necessary to understand what copywriting is.

Good Copywriting Is About Inspiration

Good copywriting is about inspiring the other person to take some action.  It’s a conversational language that convinces another person to take action, says David Garfinkel.

The action you want people to take doesn’t always have to involve money or taking out one’s credit card. Good copywriting could inspire one to lose weight. The best copywriting comes across as very sincere, motivating and like an invitation says David Garfinkel, a Guru in his own right.

Our fear of coming across too heavy handed stops us from learning skills that could add value to and be a positive experience for our prospects and customers. Because a copywriting mindset starts by thinking about the other person first, we could be of better service to them.

Good copy will do the sifting and sorting for you as it will help you identify the people who want what you have.

Internet Marketing Guru Ann Sieg emphasizes the significance of a copywriting mindset. A copywriting mindset not only brings relief for better business communication but it also brings about a shift in personal development.

A copywriting mindset has an effect that perhaps is unsuspected in that it can have a positive influence in one’s life in general and develop a greater sense of confidence in what you are doing.

As Internet Marketing Guru Ann Sieg so brilliantly pointed out many times to MLMers, it’s learning real marketing and real business skills takes you where you want to go. Learning copywriting and adopting a copywriting mindset will rocket your business to success. It’s the one tool you really want in your tool belt.

There's a thought in here which all should take to heart

"With a copywriting mindset, you want your words to inspire, invite or influence others toward your point of view. What words do they need to hear that will convince them to take the action to get the results you are looking for.

Putting the other person first, you consider the thought process that they may go through as they receive your message."

I feel like this thought not only sums up the most important aspects of a copywriting mindset, but also what's crucial about any form of communication.

The value of communication is in the response. If you don't get the response you are aiming for, assume it has more to do with the communicator rather than the receiver. Of course that does not mean that everyone will always do what you want, buy what you sell, or enroll in your program. But what it does mean is that people will listen and absorb your message most readily if it communicated in the best way possible.

Excellent article Donnalyn.

Copywriting is a learned skill

Having a copywriting mindset is a learned skill that needs to be cultivated and practiced. It is not about selling but about delivering a message that is interesting and compels the reader to take action. These are but a few of the insights I got when listening to David Garfinkle. He is truly a master.

It starts and Ends with good Copywriting

Communicating to your audience the real message you want to deliver can be, for some people, quite a challenge.

But any skill can be learned, nurtured and fine-tuned. And there is no doubt that inspiration plays a huge role. That's what will keep your audience coming back for more.

Good Copywriting Is About Inspiration

I love that. So many people see copy writing as making someone do something they don't want to do. the idea of inspiring someone--to take action of some kind for something that inspires them is exciting. It is a wonderful skill to master.

Copywriting is at the Heart of All Marketing

The heart of [nearly] all good marketing is good copy writing.

-- I qualified it a little there, in case someone tries to come up with a type of marketing or medium that wouldn't qualify ...

The copy - what you say and how you say it - is so influential and important in every media used for marketing that it may be the single most important skill that online marketers can learn.

As you pointed out - 'It's the one tool you really want in your tool belt.'

David Garfinkel is a copywriting guru, and an excellent teacher, who understands the importance of the 'Copywriting Mindset'.

Great article, Donnalynn.

Copywriting Inspires Us to Take ACTION

Good copywriting IS all about inspiring people to "Take Action!" We often lose sight of this in the rush to make a buck. All we think of is the "get out your credit card" action when in fact there are many more acceptable or desirable actions our "copywriting" can and should be focused on. Thanks for reminding us to step back and get back to basics Donnalynn.

Creating Magic

I was once told by a very smart teacher that copywriting is creating magic with our words. It is truly a way of telling a story, a different kind of story, but a story just the same. I try and keep that in my mind when I have those moments of feeling stuck or hitting a roadblock as I try to find the right words to convey my thoughts to the reader or customer. As Shelly said, too often we lose sight in the rush to make a buck.

Copyrighting is an art and it takes time to develop that art. But as Donnalyn pointed out, copywriting is one tool you will want in your toolbelt.

Copywriting Mindset.

Donnalynn,

Excellent article. I agree that copywriting is a skill you must have in your tool belt.

As you say, copywriting is not manipulation. It does provide inspiration. It's a way of getting your point across, but not in a heavy-handed way. It's all about entering into the conversation that your prospect is having and building the relationship.

Great job!

Copywriting Isn't A Bad Word

Developing the skill and mindset to have the readers picture, and feel your word take practice. David Garfinkel templates made available to Renegade Professionals is a great way to develop a copywriters mindset.
Donnalyn, I agree Copywriting is one tool we can't be without.

It's about your target audience

Without the skill of being able to write effective copy your business will go nowhere fast.
To be effective at good copy, you must understand the needs of your target market and then move them to taking a desired action.
Learning to write from the point of where the audience is will go far in having them listen and then act.

Copywriting a Conversation?

As David Garfinkel taught his class, "The Ultimate Crash Copywriting Course", I felt like I was sitting across from him at coffee. David is so able to make his listener, and reader feel like they are the only person in the world for him in that moment. Copywriting as David teaches it is conversational, this initiates relationship and trust.

David easily puts some kind of call to action in the encounter/written piece and the reader responds.

A Master's skill generously taught, and as others commented, a mindset to cultivate.

Hi Deborah, It's hard to swallow, but you are so right that if you don't get the response you're looking for, it has more to do with the communicator than the receiver. Thanks for making that point!

It does seem daunting,

It does seem daunting, doesn't it. But when you think of it as an invitation, calm breathing resumes.

yeah, copywriting has a

yeah, copywriting has a really bad tinge to it, that is if you don't know what it really is and what it can do for you and others. Just goes to show how wrong those presumptions can be.

I have learned so much from David Garfinkel. I have copious notes that I pull out, review and work to put into place. I look forward to when these notes can go bye-bye and this tool becomes my well worn favorite.
