There is a big factor people leave out of their copy when they're writing and if you don't use it your words will be seen as empty, hollow, and just plain words.  Your copy will seem like nothing but a sales pitch.  In order to really build a deep emotional connection with your reader - you're going to have to use one critical element that is lacking in many marketing pieces... Empathy It's often times when we're writing that we forget to think about the people who will be reading our words, viewing our websites, and clicking on our ads.  It's easy to view people as floating wallets or a number in a big list, and to write e-mails, sales pages, and landing pages as if that were the case.  Before you write your next marketing piece consider this...you are writing to a real person - with real feelings and emotions - real wants, needs and aspirations.  People join MLM for a reason -they have a problem they believe a home business could solve - not to give money away. If you don't understand the true reason behind why people need your product, service or leadership then you won't get their attention.  Regardless of who you swipe from.  A cool trick for MLM is... To remember - the people your looking for are most likely people similar to yourself.  Think about why you joined the company your in, what where you looking for and what did you want to accomplish?  It's most likely your target audience is looking for something similar. So ask yourself this...Is what you're writing really something you would find of value?  Or is it just hype?  I read off Michael Fortin's blog that hype is only perceived as hype if there is nothing to back it up.  So basically if you’re only making generic empty claims then your words will be viewed as hype.  You need to say something of value and be able to back it up. When I read the Magnetic Sponsoring sales letter for the first time I really felt like Mike Dillard wanted to help me with my problem verses sell me something.  And since Mike has personal experience with the market he's in - he could first hand understand what the average network marketer is going through and the problems they face. And his writing shows it. There's a cool trick to learning what your target audience really wants and is looking to buy if your not in the market your selling to - it's what I do with clients and I'll cover it in a later article. For now remember to be "Empathetic" to your reader or target audience and to treat them like a real person.
