Two Mistakes EVERYONE makes with LANDING PAGES!!!

You know?

Barely anyone knows how to make a landing page worth a darn.

I’ve worked on traffic for 100’s of clients-- including some of the BIGGEST Gooroo names, and their landing pages are pathetic.

The first page a COLD traffic prospect sees of your website is more important than the campaign itself. I’m serious.

You work hard to get people to visit your site, so if you don’t do something REAL fast to get them to follow through, you just flushed precious ad money down the toilet.

The mistakes are two types:

The first, which is probably obvious, is the landing page assumes a lot from the prospect.

For example, using jargon words from the industry, we take for granted…such as "lead", “landing page”, “traffic”, and “attraction marketing”.

If someone doesn’t know what those words mean and you don’t explain them, they’re going to leave pretty quick. Especially if there’s no navigation or alternative action for them to take to see more of your site.

The other mistake, which is far more common…is to assume too LITTLE.

When a person clicks your ad from a search they ran, they do so for a reason.

So for example, you have an ad targeting the search “home business” and the ad says, “Free eBook shows you how to get endless traffic and leads for your home business!”…

The landing page they go to says, “See how you can get 100 leads or more per day for your business” in the headline, it might look good to you…but it’s AWFUL!

You just reiterated what they already read in the ad using more words. And you wasted precious time to get them on your list.

What if they read NOTHING beyond this headline? You lose them.

And it's your fault, because you just wasted 3of your total 6 seconds to get them on the list.

It would be smarter to say something like, “Write your email below to get the Free Traffic eBook Now!”

I mean, you know exactly where the visitor came from.

You know which keyword(s) they searched for.

And which ad(s) they clicked.

They want your stupid eBook!

Why don’t marketers just continue the conversation where their ads left off?

Of course, this example was stupid and I would NEVER write an ad or landing page like that to get a lead into my clients’ lists.

Asking someone to write their email to get a free book is idiotic. It’s the old “bribe” strategy which I’ve often said is the WORST way to get leads and make sales.

But my point is made, isn't it?
