Do You Make These Mistakes in Network Marketing Business?
We all make mistakes. It's what makes being human so interesting. But they aren't fun. And if we can learn from them and avoid them, that's even better.
So, what sort of network marketing mistakes do we need to avoid. Probably the most common, and most devastating mistake, is selling to friends and family rather than attracting real customers. This is one of the most common mistakes in network marketing, partially because it is encouraged by many members of the industry! But if your friends and family have no need or desire for your product, and no interest in joining your business opportunity you will quickly find yourself becoming a nuisance to the people you care about the most. So, not only are you banging your head against a brick wall selling something to people who don't want it, but you may even lose some friends in the process.
Another costly mistake is closely related to the previous mistake; and that's chasing after complete strangers. Have you ever found yourself buying and placing ads on car windows, handing out business cards outside Best Buy, or calling lead lists 3 or 4 times? Have you ever been frustrated when all that work failed to bring in one real customer? Again, this is because you are wasting time on people who aren't interested in what you have to sell. You need leads who are not only interested in, but who are already spending money on your product. And if you want to be listened to, you need people to come to you, not the other way around. You need to be sought after as an expert, not avoided like an annoying stranger.
The other side of this coin is in regard to your business and your downline. Not only do you need to be selective about who you pursue, but you also need to be selective about who you decide to recruit and train. You will probably find that some people are looking for a quick buck; some don't have enough time and money; and some aren't really interested in the business model and product. If you find yourself recruiting these people, you are making a mistake. It will become a waste of time and effort. You need dedicated people who are interested in what you are doing. You don't need dead weight.
So, get out there and find your target market and use your marketing to draw them into your company as customers and partners that want to be in business with you for the right reasons.
