Are You Speaking At The Level And Language Of Your Prospect?
You can be skillful, techy, the badd ass on how to create this and that, but if you do not communicate in the language of your audience, then you'll not connect. Below are tips on how to do this but first....
Remember, this does depend at the level of who your audience is and the level of knowledge you are sharing. As well, how you built the relationship enough for them to respond. If they don't respond, and I mean, all your list....you haven't got a list. I need to be this clear.
Even if you have 1,000 or 20,000 on your list. If they do not respond, you haven't a business...yet.
What I am finding is most are not speaking in the language of their audience.
You know, I am finding so many today, and I literally mean, so many who are still confused, still don't know how to even create a simple strategy, and find it just, well, confusing. The complaints is simple..
"I just wish this dude who emails me or sends videos....keeps it simple!"
Keep your focus on the prospect, their immediate need and the language they want to learn in. I don't mean French, Spanish and all that. I mean, ask them what level they are at in knowledge. This is a great opportunity to ask questions and listen to what they have to say....
I'll give you an example...
One of my friends, works in a job and every week they have a meeting with the boss. One guy got fired because the boss and the team, just had enough of this guy, speaking so technical and not in the language the team can understand. Even the boss who is knows his stuff, was like..
"Harry, come on man. Break it down and keep it simple. This is too much info you're giving and it's too technical."
In that meeting were programmers, were customer care team, were designers, and for two months, this guy didn't get the message, until one day, he is called into the office..
"Your fired!"
It's fine trying to talk smart and techy but the goal here is to speak in the language of your audience, so they have value. They understand what is being taught, shared and they can apply in their life.
A great leader understands this and recognises that being able to listen, then communicate in the language of the audience and not to sound so high tech and no high-touch that we miss the point.
There are still, thousands after thousands who still don't know how to set up a capture page. There are thousands after thousands who still don't know how to create a product in half hour, yes, half hour and market it within 48 hours, with everything built, ready, on auto-pilot.
There are thousands after thousands, who still need the basics. Who don't know how to put the pieces together..FAST. And yes! It can be done fast and taught in their language, simple, effective for them to apply easily and move forward.
The wise and great saying I heard years ago when a mentor was asked a question..
"So how do I deliver what I teach."
"How does your prospects want it delivered?"
"How do I communicate with my prospects?"
"What level and language your prospects speaks?"
"What are your prospects immediate needs?"
Notice all three...
The real value, language, is all geared towards our audience immediate needs, the medium they want it delivered..
And you can kick butt with your autoreponder, but if they do not respond...you have no list. Get in there and be real and stay real. Engage your audience and find out. They'll appreciate it.
You can use the following..
1. You can ask them by creating a survey.
2. You can ask them by moving them to your blog and engage.
3. You can ask them by engaging them on twitter and do what most don't do, and not blast with links but use it as a tool to get answers FAST and tighten everything up.
Start moving away from what thousands do. Use it as a tool for your business than just blasting links.
4. You can ask them by phone call and I'll reveal an interview audio soon, which is a live phone call, where I ask exactly the questions with a prospect who has now become a raving fan, follower and customer. That's coming soon.
Be creative. You don't need to stick to the norm of what everyone is doing. Not one thing is right. Tap into your creativity, test what works for YOU and lead your business and pioneer in building relationships.
My first goal, was build a list that responds! Not build a list.
But a list that responds and build a tighten relationship, where I know my audience so well, and they know me so well, and we work together, to deliver the value they need, in the language they speak, and in the medium they desire and works for them.
You'll not know until you either pick up the phone, or engage them by blog, email or twitter.
Or whatever creative way you feel but..engage them and step out of the comfort zone of auto-responder. Your auto-responder, your blog, your articles can do so much.
When I say "pick up the phone," I don't mean cold calling. I don't mean call people who are not already on your list.
I don't mean call anyone who has not giving you their permission to do so, by opting in. I'm straight with this and I am a hard liner. I do not like cold calls and do not agree with them.
Call the prospects who opted in, who you have engaged, who are responding as well, and those who are not, and clean the line up. Get your list strong and responding and this takes that extra step to connect.
It's time to talk to your audience, and not at them but with them. Get them involved through your whole process.
Build a list that responds. Build it strong and the day you teach how to do this, is the day, you're going to be known online and...make money! Real money with ease. We're in a people's business.
Get good in build relationship with people.
