What hand do you use when you connect

What hand do you use when you connect on BN?

Is it the hand of welcome, or the hand wielding the sledge hammer?

I honestly think BetterNetworker is a superb resource for anyone in a home-based business... and, as one of those in the MLM "industry", I thoroughly appreciate the connections I've made.

I receive four types of messages from my "friends" here:

1. a welcome and an offer of help
2. a welcome and a request for help
3. a welcome and a suggestion to look at the other person's business
4. Bloody SPAM... sledge-hammering me around with the usual nonsensical Junk Mail garbage...

... "taking the industry by storm"... the hurricane season has fewer storms than the MLM business
... "a product that everyone will want"... and if you believe that, then I have this neat bridge to sell you
... "the industry leading compensation plan"... EVERY "opportunity" I have investigated (or been subjected to) has made that claim... truthfully, most compensation plans suck, and most promoters have NEVER even looked at another compensation plan and done comparisons
... "get in at the beginning"... as with most businesses, the majority of MLM opportunities wither away in their first 2 years

A case in point

I got mail, yesterday, on the BN Personal Message system, from someone who did not have the courtesy (sense?) to use the name of a human being... and it was MLM crap at its worst... a parody of all the bad MLM ads wouldn't have been this blatant and obnoxious.  AND about 1 minute later, I got an identical e-mail... same people and company... asking "Did you receive our first email?".

Who teaches this garbage to people?

I would like to assure those who use the welcome hand, #3 above, that I take the time to visit your website and look around... a courteous request is all it takes. 

I always learn something that will benefit me from those visits.

And maybe, some day, you will choose to visit my site... a visit that I would gratefully welcome.
