Why should you sign your emails?

A lot of people that advertise through list building programs refuse to put their details into those emails.

Why do they do that?

The most common reason given for this is that they are afraid of getting loads of spam in response to the emails rather than genuine responses.

That is right, I did say spam, if an email is responded to by simply advertising your opportunity then you are a spammer and could be prosecuted for it.
If you send a commercial email to anybody without their express permission you are liable to be accused of spamming, you first need to get them to join your list. Within the list building program by becoming a member you are giving permission for other members to email you, but you are only allowed to send messages back through the same program.

Anyway that is not the point of this article, when you send a message through a list building program you want to let readers know who you are, you need to 'brand' yourself. If there is a name and possibly other contact details there they know you are a real person and if they keep seeing the same name over and over again they tend to realise you are there for the long term and are more likely to be genuine.

I always put in my name, email address and skype address in every message I send out, some just put in a few words and hope that they will get sign ups just off the link at the end of the message, personally I just totally ignored these.

By putting my details I do receive junk, but that is ignored, basically I feel sorry for the people that feel they need to do that to promote their offer, they are giving nothing.
To build a long term business you need to build a relationship with the people you are sending messages to so that you know them and they know and trust you. That will make them more likely to purchase from you further down the line.
