Hype and online marketing seem to go hand and hand these days have you noticed this? I sure have noticed the endless onslaught of hype driven online lead systems and I came to a major revelation about them that needs to be shared.

I am talking about something that is a bit of an art but at the same time so simple anyone can do it. This secret is so powerful it can have a lasting impact on your business that will change your game in a major way. The funny thing is this is rarely talked about.

Managing Expectations.

You know you have seen a hype driven online lead system or two, or 10 and maybe you are even guilty of having one. If you do you are killing their business in way a lot of new marketers don’t even think about, attrition in your organization.

When someone drives their online lead system with a lot of hype about how much money one can make in 3 days by only working 2 minutes a day using system that does 97% of the work they are creating a false expectation for their prospect and new partners.

Sure you can get a lot of people to join your business with this kind of hype but what kind of foundation are you laying? If someone joins your business because they came through an online lead system or sales funnel that sold them on the idea that they could make astounding amounts of money in a short amount of time and this doesn’t happen, they are going to move on real quick!

Why you may wonder?

While you did set an expectation that may be true for some it is unrealistic for most and when most don’t break the bank their first month they get discouraged and leave to find the next quick fix. This is the type of people this style of marketing attracts.

It makes more sense to be real with people and manage their expectation properly so that you can build long lasting partnerships that are profitable for all? If you are realistic with people about what it takes to be successful online. If you help them asses their current skill level to map out a plan based on this you can then give them some honest attainable goals that will match their likely learning curve.

Can people make tons a minute in days online? Sure. Is it realistic for the masses? No.

By using an online lead system that positions you as a leader and someone of value instead of hype you can better manage you prospects and new team members expectations which in return will help massively with your team attrition.

I know I am building my business for the long term and would rather work with less people that are of a higher caliber that are going to stick around because they were given expectations that were true to them and not some hype. Instead of the masses who are going to come and go leaving you to constantly have to fill your pipeline to maintain the level of income you desire and this is no way to build residual income.

Or you can go with the hype for your online lead system because it is easier in the short term, just be prepared to have a lot of people get discouraged quickly and leave your team and your dream behind.
