How To Create A Personal Branding Strategy
Welcome back to the 4th post in the “Unique Personal Branding” Series
Today I’ll be showing you how to create a personal branding strategy, but first, let’s have a quick look back at what we have covered so far in this series, just to make sure you are following the process step by step.

•Create a Personal Branding Strategy
Long gone are the days where individuals stay at a company for 15-20 years. Today it is critical to build your own brand. You’ve got to be an expert on something and the most important job you have today, is to be the president of your brand. You have to make sure to be clear on who you are and why you are unique. Discovering your own brand, launch it and maintaining it.
Using today’s technology anyone can create their own brand. It takes allot of dedication, consistency and some upfront hard work. However once you’ve gone through the process, you’ll realize the power of having your own brand when marketing yourself.
The many ways of using your Personal Branding
- Build your own Company as an Entrepreneur/Consultant
- Market yourself to a company, increase your value as a potential employee
- Build your credibility for future ventures.
Having a personal brand increases your value to others. However, you need to strategically build it so others can see the value clearly.
Personal Brand Development and Strategy
Now that you have your Branding Statement, it is time to start developing your brand and create a personal branding strategy. We will focus on the digital development of branding you.
- Blog – Get yourself a blog, GET YOUR FREE BLOG HERE. You need to post 3 to 4 post per week, be consistent. Your posts should be 500 to 700 words, covering topics that you master and want to be related to. Share your posts via numerous of social medias like Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn.
- Facebook. Join facebook, create your profile & fan page. Facebook is a great platform to really show who you are and what you’re about. Make sure to use the same photo on your social media accounts. Put in work history, experience and other relevant information. Make sure to use your facebook fan page to interact and join with groups, use it as your fan page name. Invite your colleagues, peers and friends to join your profile and like you fan page.
- Twitter. Join twitter, create your account with photo, your name or something that describes what you do. Follow people within your industry that shares the same interests and would have an interest in the topics of your brand. Interact and be engaged. Don’t just broadcast. Use twitter tools such as Tweetadder to find those that are interested in the topic your brand represents. Tweetadder will increase you following and attract them to your brand. Keep a good balance though, follow 5 to 8 per day.
- LinkedIn Profile – is your digital version of your resume, portfolio and references/recommendations. Make sure you have a LinkedIn profile, fill in all the relevant information. Join groups relevant to your brand. Interact and be engaged, answer questions and be active. Connect with people in the groups you’ve joined, comment others input with relevant comments
- IBO Toolbox – Join IBO (Great platform for Network Marketers) Again, make your profile according to your brand, share and interact. Connect with other members and bring value.
- Squidoo – Create your profile, create your lens, choose among many different modules to create and complete an interesting lens for your audience.
Remember to display your photo that is recognizable on all the platforms. This will help in building recognition. This will take CONSISTENCY AND DEDICATION, eventually your brand will be recognized and will be the one to go to, the leader.
