How to Get Your Message in Front of Your Target Market

Read More: Marketing

Whether you're a network marketer, home based business owner, or a
representative for direct sales company, getting your message...and
your products...in front of your target market probably occupies much of
your thoughts.

You know your products/services are exceptional, have already identified
your market**, know where to find them and now you're ready to speak
directly to them.  (**If you haven't done this CRITICAL first step, see
my article on identifying yours for information)

Your next task is to determine what methods you'll use to get
your message in front of your target.  Newspapers? Videos? Social Media?
Articles? Flyers?  There are far too many methods to list here.

The point here is to get your message out to as many people as you
possibly can CONSISTENTLY.

Do this... make a list of all the methods you already know how to do.

Pick 3 - 5 of those and begin doing them.

Caution:  If you're fascinated by the concept of video marketing and don't
own a video camera (or a laptop that can shoot videos), DON'T choose
that as one of your methods.  Human nature will have you "waiting " until
you get that camera before you begin...anything...and you will remain
stuck where you are.

So you've chosen your methods.  Now WHERE are you going to use them?
We need to back to defining our target market.(SEE why it's so important?)
Because we know them so well, we know where they hang out.

For instance, if our target market is young moms of preschoolers who want
to lose weight, we're not going to hang our flyers at the local auto parts store.
(well, maybe we are, but we wouldn't expect to get much response from them)

If our market is made up of retirees, we wouldn't get our phone to ring much if
we put our ads in Parents Magazine, would we?

I think you get the idea here.

So spend some time alone and quiet with a pad and pencil and
write a list of the methods that you can begin using TODAY!

Then choose 3 to 5 of those methods and COMMIT to using them
CONSISTANTLY for 90 days and don't stop.

Remember, building a solid business foundation takes time...don't expect things
to start happening in the first few weeks.  Hang in there!  Stay in action and
you'll likely begin to see the first trickle somewhere around the 45th day after
you start.

Remain consistent, and at the end of 90 days, you'll be amazed at your results.

Target market in MLM

I found it very interesting that you talk about target markets when it comes to MLM. So many in MLM go after anyone. Everyone is not your perfect customer/team mate. Dan Kennedy says this is one of the biggest hardship for businesses. They don't figure who their customer is.

defining our target market

I think always starting with defining the target market as the key and foundation of what we should all be practicing, very good points.

Must Read

Cathie,

This should be a must read BEFORE anyone joins any company. It would save heartache and rejection. I will definitely be sharing it with my team members.

Target Your Market

If only I had understood this 33 years ago when they told me "everyone" was my target - If they could fog a mirror they were a prospect when in fact they may not even have been a suspect - Target your audience first and then you can put your information in the right place - Even better - choose a market with a need, source a company that delivers a product or service that answers
that need and then get after the 5 C's - now you are in business

'Smack' Down

Hey Cathie,

Love the article... I love the challenge of laying everything out into 90 day chunks to keep me moving forward in my business. This reinforces that we also need to nail down who we are trying to attract to our business or we are just blowin' hot air (: Great article!

Target Market

For sales teams, one way to reach out to target markets is through direct marketing. This is done by buying consumer database based on the segmentation profiles you have defined. These database usually comes with consumer contacts (e.g. email, mobile no., home no., etc.). Caution is recommended when undertaking direct marketing efforts — check the targeted country's direct marketing laws.-Senior Healthcare Consultants
