How to Fail in MLM
First, let me say that if you are not prepared to be in this for the long haul and learn the skills required to become successful – then you may as well go back to your job and stop wasting your time. Harsh – that may be, but a reality that most people need to be aware of.
All too often, people come into the MLM or network marketing industry and expect that they will just give it a try for 90 days. By making such a short sighted commitment, they have already set themselves up for failure.
Some of the common mistakes in failing in the MLM industry are:
1) No upline support or training. While I know that anyone can succeed with or without a mentor – it is important that you do have access to training, tools, resources and support. The chances for survival of a new MLM marketer is slim when they do not have access to training or support.
2) New MLM Marketers cannot sell – In fact I would say that most people cannot sell or like to sell. It is common for MLM companies to tell distributors that they are not selling, but rather – sharing. At the end of the day if you dont make sales – you dont make money. So I think you can make the assumption that you must learn how to make a sale.
3) Lack of marketing knowledge and training. Here is a picture of what normally happens. The new person has just signed up in an exciting MLM program. He is taught by the manuals, meetings and so forth, how he should ’share” his product with his friends, neighbors and relatives.
Normally, he is not comfortable with this, and if he is typical, he will have many sleepless, tossing and turning nights. He just doesn’t want to “impose” on his friends! He would feel a lot more comfortable just presenting his opportunity to strangers.
4) No true duplicative system. Since most MLM companies are still teaching recruiting methods that were effective 20 years ago and have not adapted to the 21st century , the MLM companies are generally lacking in a system that is truly duplicatable and rely on the 1% of people that will work 60+ hours a week just to keep their business afloat.
5) Quitting is easy. Most people that come into the MLM industry quit within their first 90 days and if they dont they are changing from company to company looking for the silver bullet.
I know there are many other reasons why most people fail in MLM but these above are very common. I spent 4 years in traditional MLM and even though I was not a quitter I was certainly not making any progress because I lacked the skills to properly market my business .
I was extremely excited when I found a company and marketing system that eliminated most of the usual reasons people fail. I no longer had to do any selling, telling or begging , I had access to the top internet marketers in the world, I leveraged a powerful internet marketing system that sifted and sorted out all the tyre kickers for me and I got access to a powerful marketing training in the form of a ‘wiki’. This wiki is an online interactive training platform where top producers are able to add regularly updated methods that are getting results.
To access the same system and marketing platform that has allowed me to go from broke, struggling and frustrated to a top producer and internet marketing expert visit:

How to Fail in MLM comment
Network Marketing is a or should be viewed as a career. No one should just step into it without good training and think they will be a smashing success.
Good mentorship is key and what made us successful. Of course as you say there are other reasons, like picking a bad company, or products that are not in monthly demand.
But MLM is a career that anyone can join, and do well if they have a good mentor that they learn from. Knowledge is not power, applied knowledge is power. A good smile helps too.
God Bless
