How To Get Featured In "The Best Of Better Networker" Weekly E-mails

Read More: Marketing

Hey, I didn't think I'd run into you today but now that you're here we might as well catch up. I've been keeping a close eye on your posts. Reading dozens upon dozens of articles a week and sharing the best of them with you when I can.

Now, on a good week, I share nine Better Networker posts with the whole community and I put it in an e-mail called "The Best Of Better Networker". If you're interested in massive free advertising then you're probably wondering how I pick those.

It's actually a secret...

Kidding. The truth is, instructors get first dibs because they're constantly pumping out quality content which makes everyone happy. And then I go straight to reading new articles from networkers like you right here.

Here's how I pick them...

I ask myself...
• Is there a lot of typos?
• Is it easy to read? Uses short paragraphs, sentences, subheads.
• Does the headline describe the content?
• Is it original content? As opposed to copy and paste.
• Is it longer than three paragraphs?
• Is it helpful or just blatant self-promotion?
• Is it positive or negative?
• Did they use pictures? Wow. this sets you apart.
• How many votes does it have?
• How many views does it have?

Of course, before I even look at views or votes... the first thing I look for is a headline. You see, a great headline tells me three things.

First, it tells me that you know what you're doing and there's a great article inside. Worth reading and maybe sharing with the community.

Second, it tells me that you can spell.

Third, it tells me exactly what you have to share. Which makes things ten times easier and almost certainly doubles your chances of being shared in the "Best of Better Networker".

A few things to note...

If there are typos in your headline your content will not be shared with the community. I know that's harsh, but in most cases if you have typos in your headline there will be even more in the article beneath. Which makes it really hard to read. So those get skipped pretty fast.

Solid blocks of text will almost never be shared. It's just too hard to read. And that's a really big deal. Believe it or not.

Subheads and pictures almost triple your chances of being featured just because it makes things easier to read. Which I know I harp on... but it's marketing 101.

But most important of all...

I look for quality. If you're sharing great advice and it's easy to read then your chances of being featured will go up exponentially.

Plus, If you really stand out from the crowd by giving more and working more... you'll get more votes. More traffic and build your reputation as a leader in our community.

And that alone puts you in the best of the best.

Thank you.

Jason The "Better Networker"

P.P.S.
Videos, Podcasts, and other content... even forum posts get shared from time to time. The reason you don't see more is time. It's hard to watch a dozen 15 minute videos and still give attention to the other content on Better Networker. So vote for the ones you like... it plays a big role in which videos get featured in the "Best of Better Networker".
