As a small business owner, I know how important it is to have a web presence. Before the Renegade, I had no idea, even where to start. With their step by step training, anyone, even as new as me, can get a web presence up and started in just a few months.

Thanks for putting all this information together in one place.

Every Successful Business Needs a Strategy

One of the biggest mistakes I see my the clients who come to me for help make is a lack of an internet marketing strategy, a lack of focus... In other words they don't have a tight niche or a plan to market it.

I think this is because of all the hype out there promising people it'll be "easy, cheap and instant" and anyone can do it with little or no effort.

If these same people were opening a business downtown on main street that was costing them thousands or most likely tens of thousands of dollars to set up before the 1st customer ever walked in the door, you can bet your bottom dollar they'd have a plan in place to get that money back. They'd know Exactly...

* WHAT they are selling (are they building a doughnut shop or a shoe store?)

*WHO their customers are, How many customers are likely to stop by a week

* What the average sale will be etc...

Creating a successful business on the internet is no different and yet people think that because you can put a link to anything on your website you should put links to EVERYTHING you can possibly sell on your website.

This gets them into trouble.

If you are trying to sell everything to everyone you have no message, no focus... No Internet Marketing Strategy! Your message and your profits get lost in the wind.

All successful business professionals are constantly training, learning and honing their skills. They are constantly tweaking and improving upon their business plan and you should too.

So, if you're not seeing the results you'd like from your internet marketing strategy you need to do like Kathy suggests and seek out help. Get yourself a Coach AND ongoing training from a reputable place like Renegade Professional.

A Great List!

All of the best marketing strategies listed in one place!
Nothing in the list should be overlooked. Evaluate how each of them could work in your Internet Marketing plan.
As Shelly stated, since it's a long list, get a coach to help you figure out what's best for you and your goals; your strategy; your target market.

It's All In The Planning

As we are learning daily about how to market our product, there is no doubt that we need to evaluate first and then apply what we've learned to our online marketing strategies, as Kathy has mentioned.

Having it all listed here makes for a perfect review, just in case we've left something out by oversight.

Start with what you know

What a great and comprehensive list of marketing tools and activities. While it can seem overwhelming, you don't have to be an expert in every area. I always believe that it is best to start with your strengths. What type of marketing is the best fit for you? Maybe you love to write - then article marketing is a great way to start. Once you learn one area, you can move on to the next, and the next.
Thanks for sharing Kathy!

Don't Get Overwhelmed

I like the completeness of your Marketing Strategy list. To avoid being overwhelmed a person need to learn one task well before moving on to the next. Trying to do everything at once could become overwhelming to many.

Internet Marketing for a Small Business.

Kathy,

Excellent article! The list of marketing strategies is helpful to all of us.

I feel that there is one particular business category that could greatly benefit from the information in your article.

The power of internet marketing and social networking is greatly overlooked by traditional small businesses (restaurants, etc.) It would allow them to attract customers and clients in an inexpensive and effective manner.

Internet Marketing Checklist

Kathy,
This is a great resource for business people to make sure they're covering all their internet marketing bases. As a business owner, choosing one or two methods at first will avoid info overload. Adding to the marketing mix over time will bring customers in from lots of areas and get your business rockin' and rollin'. Thanks for putting this together.
