Wow, that's exactly the

Wow, that's exactly the revelation that I needed. My purpose for doing network marketing was to develop my entrepreneurial spirit. The advantages are obvious, low cost, low risk and do it at your own pace. Balancing my own desires for creativity and the teachings of my team, who only know the tradition way of building an MLM has been tricky. But at the end of the day we're all entrepreneurs and we need to be fulfilled in what we do along the journey as well as enjoying our successes.

MLM or Internet Marketing?

There are a couple things one must do when considering any kind of home based business. FIRST OF ALL read this ebook http://roberta.successin10steps.com/?mad=31669
Next consider whether or not the company you are considering has these five pillars.
Pillar number 1 is company management experience with integrity. The CEO or owner of the company needs to have experience in the field. You wouldn't want to put a person who just started working today on the phone servicing your customers would you? Of course not, and It's no different with MLM or network marketing. The person who is leading you needs to have built a down line in order to show you how to successfully build your business. Look at the company management and see if they have any experience.

To really get real results here you will have to be a critical thinker. Do a Google search on the company and the CEO. You will be amazed at home many of these people have failed at previous business ventures and are lying to you about their results. Read the biography of the people running these companies. Have any of these people been successful in network marketing or MLM. If the people running the company don't have any training or experience in MLM or network marketing, how will they ever teach you to run the business and build your team?

Pillar number 2 is the timing in the company and timing in the industry. How long have they been in business? Are they in the pre-launch phase of the business? It is so important to look around and see if the opportunity will be right for you. Do not skim over the timing in the industry. The business needs to have been around for at least two years. Be very careful selling technology, in two years the technology will be free.

Pillar number 3 is a remarkable product. You have to have a really great product that stands out. Find the product that everyone is screaming they want and fall in love with that product. Are you selling a product that has only one time sales? If you do, your money is made from recruiting other people. You will constantly have to bring in new sales all the time. Stop listening to people who tell you that you have to believe in the product. You don't have to believe in the product to sell millions of dollars worth. Sell what people want.

Is your product something people will buy if there was not a compensation plan attached to it? You need a product that people will buy whether or not you have a business opportunity to go along with it. If you are in a company, where your money is made recruiting people, you are in an illegal pyramid scam. Folks the government will not hesitate to go after you if you are one of the top distributers who are making a great income.

Pillar number 4 is compensation plans. You have got to have a compensation plan that pays the part time worker. If the person sponsoring you tells you that the company is making millions of dollars that just tells you that most of the distributors aren't making a dime. Most companies pay five percent to the lowest distributors, fifteen percent to the middle ranking distributors, and thirty five percent to the top ranking distributors. When you build an organization seventy five percent of your people will be product users only. Use the comp plan that takes the least amount of people to make the most amount of money.

The top three percent of the people will be the ones that make most of the money. You will need to crunch the numbers to come up with how many distributors to make ten thousand dollars with. Make sure you know how much money you will make. If you would not go into a regular job and not ask how much time you have to put into the job and how much money you will make, why in the world will you do this with an MLM or network marketing company? Do yourself a favor and crunch the numbers so that you know how many people you need and how much time and effort you will have to put into the business. In most companies you need 2000-3,000 people in your company to have a $10K/mo residual
income, but with a Five pillar company you only need 350 people to have $10K/mo residual income.
Pillar number 5 is having a proven duplication system that will allow your people to duplicate the system after you quit building the business. If you are in a company and your up line sponsor says these words to you, run quick and get away from them. When they tell you to buy leads and make a list of friends and family, run as fast as you can. What they are telling you does not duplicate. You have to have a proven duplication system. You do not want to have a business that doesn't grow if you take a vacation.

Learn how to fish rather than being given a fish. You need to know how to advertise as well. The business that you get into, has to have a proven duplication system that anyone can do. Will the average person be able to do this? This is a question that you will be asked by people who are just learning the industry and are in need of answers. You will have to be able to give these people something to work with.

Most people who join MLM or network marketing will be part timers. With that said you already know that you will need to provide them with the tools which will allow them to easily learn and then duplicate what they have been taught. So how do you do this? This is an easy question to answer. You give them the system that they can do with the least amount of time doing it.

You need to be able to put them on the phone with five to maybe twenty people who have used the system and have had great results. People want to be guided by others who know what they are doing. Be prepared to talk the talk and walk the walk. A proven duplication system is pillar number five. Your lack of success is not your fault. It is not your fault and you are not a loser. You just didn't know that the cards were stacked against you.

In order to get the skills you need to educate yourself, you need to get involved with a successful group of people who are working together to build their business. Take the time out and learn the skills needed to own your life.

Thank you Mike

You have answered this in great detail as you always do.

When we are just following our upline we do not think about the potential we have. I know your teaching help me to expand my mind and look at my true value beyond marketing mlm product and opportunity.

Thanks

Empowering People to Acheive Their Dreams

Thank you Damayanthi,

There are uplines out there who will not be afraid to empower others to develop a complete and fully developed model (that may or may not include more than just MLM)... while there are uplines that will discourage others from pursuing anything other that "their way".

"Have It YOUR Way"...

As you've highlighted, the true nature of entrepreneurship allows freedom for one to grow, not to follow the cookie cutter model. That will be the new model of leadership in the MLM industry, just as it's become in traditional business (think 'Google').

Power to the individual! To grow, develop their own assets, provide their own unique value, and expand their model for security and fulfillment.

Thanks again and as always... Keep going keep growing!
Mike

The "You INC" busines model

You always teach us the benefit of thinking outside the box & learning the stratgeies that will guarantee success in every/any economic cycle..."making our businesses recession proof"

In fact the experiences I've had with mentoring those new to mlm in regards to this same question promted me to respond with an article entitled" Robert Kiyosaki's Business School Recommendation" posted at my training blog, http://www.NetworkMarketingSolutions.info

You need to learn to sell

You need to learn to sell yourself first to succeed in Network Marketing. I still re-read what I consider to be the original pocket sized classic on this topic, The Greatest Salesman In The World, by Og Mandino who points out network marketing goes back to biblical times and beyond. The only difference in our case is the medium we use to convey our message, product or service - the digital medium.

If you cannot convince someone that YOU are a good person to join then it does not matter what product MLM or Direct Marketing you sell. Think of one word that is the essence of who you are, then use that word to brand yourself. If you are passionate about music then use that - it gives you something in common with potential entrepreneurs to start up a dialogue. Then you can see if they are someone you would like to work with.

Thanks for all your hard work Mike

Many days I am overwhelmed with the amount of work that goes into putting together a great website, now starting a blog and figuring out what would be a good affiliate program to go with.
It is hard to stay focused with all the offers out there and you put me back on track with Renegade Professional.

Roberta

Give up. When you've got a pile of millionaires lined up using the system there may be some credibility there. Been around for what? 5 years now? and still no millionaires. Something's wrong in Denmark and the natives don't see it.

Seismic shift ahead... tread carefully

MIKE!

I love this post. As Robert mentioned last Friday, this is a great response to a question a LOT of people have on their minds.

The info about the FTC trying to regulate MLM marketing claims is useful. Indeed, the industry is rife with over-sized claims of wealth duplication, and full-time incomes. And while this is a reality for many, the perceived percentage is very different from the reality.

I'm enjoying my personal journey of growth via Internet Marketing.

MLM provides great personal development opportunities, but the duplication aspect is not as reliable as one would hope.

Downline attrition, apathy, and lack of duplication skills can make it an uphill climb. As Raymond Fong & other Carbon Copy folks will attest to, I'm sure. :)

In any event, MLM and Internet Marketing are means to an end.
Savvy marketers will find the right combination for themselves, and work that with determination, until they reach their desired end.

Thanks for an 8.0 on the richter scale!

Heads will be buzzing about this one.
