Offline vs Online Marketing

Way back when over twenty years ago before there was Internet Marketing I myself started with some Offline Marketing strategies.

There was the time when I placed a small classified ad asking people to send a quarter for some Money Making programs. The ad cost me about 7 or 8 dollars to run and I believe I made around 2 or 3 dollars total from it. In retrospect, that wasn't bad for a very valuable lesson which was learning that a small classified in the back of a Business Opportunity magazine didn't really work too well. Needless to say, I didn't spend any more money on those "envelpoe stuffing" programs that didn't work. I laugh every time I think about this story.

Another Offline strategy that worked a little better was when I was running full page ads in another Business Magazine. It was basically a full page sales letter printed in one of these magazines. This would cost me an average of 2 or 3 thousand to run the ad, but typically would net a profit of 1 or 2 thousand per month. Yes it was good but there was a catch.

If you did not know how to write an ad you would have to pay someone to write one for you and it could cost as much as a few thousand dollars to get a good copywritten ad that sells. But it would work.

One problem I found with these type of full page ads in Business Opportunity magazines is that the magazine readership would quickly get familiar with your ad and when they see it again a few months in a row the reader would just pass over it to look at the next shiny object which would be another well written ad. So again if you did not know how to write an ad it could cut into your profits big time.

If you did know how to write an ad then you would need to write a new one every few months to keep it fresh and new, and then you would see some of the same buyers ordering from you over and over again.

The real problem with these type of people, they never could focus or commit themselves to something they thought would work for them and then stick to it long enough to even find out. They were usually trying to find something that would make them "get rich quick" and of course there is no such program. I have never seen one, and I don't ever expect to.

Ok then, I think if you're still reading you are definately not one of those people.

The next step for you is to find a Online Business that is already established and if you like what you see then go ahead and become part of it. With an Online Business there are literally so many prospects that you would never run out. Also, there are so many free places to generate a lead (think social media and email) you could actually start receiving Commissions before you spend any money on advertising.

Follow all the training and instruction in their platform and commit to doing the best you can in learning everything. Have your Mindset right and Focus on your goals for the Business and for your New Life that you will soon be enjoying.
