Internet marketing calls for many things to make it successful. You know by now that articles and blogs are great way to increase your sales and be popular to your target market. It helps you to make yourself visible to them. But there is still another form of writing that will help leverage your online home-based business and this is known as the press release.

Well, what is a press release? Are you familiar with those coming out in newspapers? Technically they are just the same. Their main goal is to announce something that has news worthiness and get exposure too. It may be a new upcoming product, service or system or even an event that recently ended or just coming up. It needs to update the clients about these things. Just like in any form of writing, press release must be something worth sharing, with no BS. Be real and direct.  

Here are some tips on how to make your press release effective.

1.    Be up to date. Write about things that are just coming up or those that have recently come up. For example, don’t write a press release about an event that happened two months ago. Who would read those if they are already finished? What the people need to know are the new things in the business. Keep your content fresh.

2.    Be unbiased. Yes you don’t need to take sides in this. Just like in journalistic writing, you need to give both sides (if there is). You need to deliver balance and news worthy products or events.

3.    Be always interesting. Write interesting things, this will not bore your target market but it will also entice them to continue reading it.

4.    Write it in the third person perspective. Why? Though you are the one who will be writing it, writing it in the third person makes it feel that somebody else did the article for you. The way press releases in newspapers are done.

There you go tips on effective press release writing. Advertise your products and events in a positive manner. Keep in mind that you are always there to help, provide information and answers and guide them to the right path.  Whatever you write be it articles, blogs or press releases, don’t ever attempt to put trash and BS in it.
