To A Fantastically Happy (And Profitable!) New Year

The New Year is upon us and we’re ready to make it a "rip-roaring" year for all members of the Better Networker community.

 

   You see, this is the time of year to set big goals and make them happen.

   Whether that’s spending more time with family and friends, bulking up, slimming down, enjoying life more, quitting a bad habit, learning something new, or just getting organized.
 
  Together we will make this New Year even better than the last!

  So what amazing new things are coming to the Better Networker community in this New Year?
  Well, a few things are for sure...

   1. We are going to change our policies for appointing BN instructors. In fact, we will be "cleaning house" and enabling members to "Vote-In" the community leaders they would like to appoint.
   2. There will be a new email schedule. Each week will have its own "weekly theme" that will shine the spotlight on members of the Better Networker community like you. In short, we will strive to reward the creators of valuable content here by bringing it to the community's attention.
 
   3. We're going to "de-clutter" the banner on the Better Networker home page and use it to focus on community news instead of external news. In other words, "what's happening now" in our community.  
 
   4. There is going to be stricter enforcement of site policies and we will be hiring additional staff to do enforce these rules. Specifically, we're going to be "cracking down" on blatant self-promotion.
 
   The BetterNetworker Rules and Guidelines will be updated to reflect these changes.
 
  

In short, we want to shine the "spotlight" and heap rewards on the valued members of the Better Networker community... 

    This year is about creating a culture of giving in our community... your community... a community where members like you can grow their business by sharing their value with the world...

   It's about giving back to those members and leaders in our community (member and leaders like you!) who give without want...

I'd like to see the external links stay as they are. I have always found them to be worthwhile and helpful.

Maybe there would be a way to keep them and just add the internal promotions??

I was just catching up with your comments here...

I have to agree with Lynda as well that sometimes there's content here that doesn't necessarily get the "spotlight" or audience that it rightfully deserves.

The "hidden gems" of the Better Networker community.

While there are many reasons for some of the changes like #3.

That's really what we're trying to accomplish.

There are so many great leaders in this community like you guys and gals here that make this a better place for all members.

You pour your hearts into helping other members of the community with your ideas and skills.

It only takes one person to make a difference and we would like to shine the spotlight on those givers who are always out there giving their best.

I hope everybody is having a Happy New Year. :-)

I know that you are inspiring others.

Jason, we should all be thanking you!

This is a wonderful resource and I wish I had found it sooner. I really appreciate the increased focus on # 4. I don't want this great community to be overrun with spammers and scammers. It is really happening a lot in other places. I've said it in many of my posts, that it is all about relationships and quality content.

As for 2011, it's "on like Donkey Kong!" Ok, I think I just aged myself. :)

Always Adjusting To The Changes

The changes are going to be great. Especially the cleaning house of instructors. I see that many of them do not post anything and have wondered why they were instructors.
