Here are the reasons that press releases will help you get free network marketing leads, along with some tips for getting the most from your PR campaign:
Google News Leads. An online press release will get into Google News if submitted to a Google News approved website. This alone will generate traffic. There are millions of competing pages in the primary Google search, but only thousands of pages listed in Google News at any one time. If your press release has a prominent call to action to your lead capture page then there is a high chance that every single PR you submit will generate free leads instantly.
Google Search Leads. Press releases are also permanently indexed in the primary Google search and can generate traffic for years to come. With a press release you are essentially piggy backing off the authority of the press release website to get your content ranked highly more quickly. Also, a press release by nature will be syndicated across multiple other sites. Each new publication will contain a backlink to the original version of the press release. These backlinks will help the content rank highly without you having to promote the content yourself.
Long Tail Keywords. I like to use a quantity based approach. Instead of trying to rank for a major keyword, write multiple press releases around many different long tail keyword variations. This will create a nice stream of leads for each piece of content. And because of the instant backlinks each press release will get from the syndicated versions of the content, they tend to rank instantly for long tail keywords.
Google Alerts Keyword. Many webmasters and blog owners will have their Google Alerts set to email them whenever a Google News item contains a keyword relevant to their niche. It is often very generic keywords such as “Business” or “Network Marketing” that they have set these flags for. So in addition to integrating long tail keywords into your press release title make sure to include a very generic keyword that describes your niche as a whole to trigger those Google Alerts flags.

However, if you spend more time on a press release and make it really creative and tie it in with hot trending topics that the media are talking about then you can get a huge influx of traffic if it gets picked up by authority blogs and media outlets.
