Professional Marketing Model
1. Get to know who your target audience is and find out what they want. This is essential when marketing your opportunity, you can't just market to anyone and everyone. Not everyone needs what you have so you have to be specific on who you target. Make sure that your audience is in need of your opportunity, otherwise you will waste a lot of valuable time on people who where never going to accept what you offered anyway.
This is list building, once you have identified who you need to target with your opportunity, the people looking for your opportunity will start to look at what you have to offer on your method of advertising. Then your list will be filled with quality leads that are in need of a solution from you.
2. Build a relationship with the people on your list, send them something useful in relation to your product or opportunity, or offer support and advice. Do this on an ongoing basis, some product reports, business opportunity statistics, are a good way to start gaining your lists trust.
Put an effort in to send out personal emails, yes autoresponders are great and save you time. But the odd occasional direct message to prospects and potential clients adds a personal touch to what you are trying to present to them. Also it make it easier for them to relate with you as you don't seem untouchable.
3. Know your marketing budget. This is important as some methods of advertising are expensive if you have little experience. For those on a tight budget I suggest that you master social media marketing such as:
- Squidoo
- Myspace
- Blogger
Research as much information as possible to leveraging these avenues to get prospects, because why pay for advertising when you can get good high quality leads for free right.
For those with a bit more money to play around with then Google Adwords is a good route to take. But you need to get experience and knowledgeable to master this or it will end up costing you more money than you make on getting that lead.
Radio advertising is good, but only if you have done your research on whether you have a large target audience or not. These are just some examples. Just be wise with your expenditure as you can throw an unlimited amount of money into advertising, without seeing any results as you might be expecting. You want to use what is most effective for your budget and opportunity.
4. Market to your list. As I said before know your budget as this will guide you to the marketing avenues that you need to take to see results.
You can never stop learning when it comes to marketing techniques, especially when the World Wide Web is constantly changing. The key is to keep plugging away at it and keep an eye out for new marketing techniques. You should be marketing or working on marketing every day of the week until you see a funnel effect. Just because you have hundreds or even thousands of leads does not mean you should stop, sit back and take it easy.
Remember for every sale you pass up in your opportunity, some other marketer has taken that sale. This is a dog eat dog industry so you need to be consistently working or outsourcing your advertising where possible.
Outsourcing is a good way to free up your time, if you have the budget, and it could include article writing, website construction, copywriting. Although I would suggest that it is important to master these skills for yourself as well.
I hope this information has been a help to you, all the best in your marketing endeavours.
