PSSST! Learn From The Griswolds About Building A Brand For Your Home Base MLM Business
One of the most popular movies series developed in the 80s was about the Griswolds from Chicago. Most of us at one time or another have spent the weeknights changing the channels and have stumbled across on of these movies. I was watching the Super bowl the other night and up popped an ad from HomeAway that shows the Griswolds standing in line to check in at their hotel. When the ad first started and we saw Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo, we knew what was coming. We knew this because these two actors together has been engrained in our heads and we instantly think of the Griswolds. The ad was really funny, but the really neat thing about it was how Home Away was able to use these characters to create and funny and memorable ad for their own brand.
If you take Chevy away from Beverly, they are both just actors. Put them together and everyone in America sees the Griswolds from Chicago. There is a lesson in this that can be applied to building a brand for your home base mlm business. You need to create such a presence in whatever niche you are going after that when people think of that particular niche, they associate it with you.
If you want to begin to build a brand, there are several key things that you will want to do. First and foremost, you need to have some kind of web presence whether it be a blog or a website. You need to put up stories about your life and include photos, videos, and get some friends to comment. One big thing that most people miss out on is they need to own whatever their brand name is in the Google search engines.
The next item you will need to address to build your brand is to always be providing value. Write
articles, do videos, work the social networks and always be providing valuable information that will get people relating your name with that topic. For instance, Raymond Fong and Ferny Ceballos are the creators of SEO Networker and have developed a brand for themselves within the MLM niche. When the majority of the industry thinks about SEO, these are the guys they identify with. Ray and Ferny built their brand by constantly providing great content and being valuable resources.
The other key item that you can help use to brand yourself is social media. Sign up for Facebook, Myspace, and any of the others you like. One key thing here is to completely and honestly fill out your profiles and be sure to include pics and get some friends. Social media is a great place to brand yourself and gain new friends and followers.
Finding success in a home base mlm business can be a tricky thing, but it you follow the branding model laid out above, you will find yourself as familiar as the Griswolds within your niche. Rev up your branding by having a website, providing quality, and being complete on your social media profiles.

The Griswolds
Hey Eric,
I love the Griswold's! A brand people remember. If you can't be remembered for intelligence, at least be remembered for laughs.
